Hi Nelly, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Less than 3 years ago, I was a corporate sales manager at a Fortune 500 company when I downloaded TikTok. Unbeknownst to me, my advice-driven dating videos would catapult me to where I am today.
Now, with 1,500 TikTok videos, I’ve gained nearly 1M followers and 20M likes across social media. I’ve sold thousands of dating courses globally, coaching celebrities and successful singles. Positive testimonials credit me for helping clients find love, get married, begin IVF journeys, and escape abusive relationships.
My social media success led to a leading role in Roku’s Match Me In Miami. The show follows my life as an elite matchmaker in Miami, a place I’ve called home for almost a decade. Through the show and social media, my free matchmaking database grew to 15,000 singles.
As an entrepreneur, I create educational products for singles, leveraging my business background. I launched Manifesting Mr. Right, a successful dating course, and The Datrix, a card game to break the ice on dates. I’m preparing to launch a merch line for my followers this Fall.
Through social media, TV, products, and matchmaking, I replaced my corporate income, scaled my business to 6 figures, and impacted hundreds of thousands worldwide. Daily messages attest to my advice videos inspiring people to reclaim their lives and attract deserved love—a rewarding part of my job.
Moving forward, my goal is to help people find love and be a positive female role model. In a world of promiscuity on social media, I strive to show young women that intelligence is cool and validation comes from within.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road – there is truly no roadmap in terms of how to monetize content creation and modern matchmaking.
I’ve launched and now grown my business through trial, error, and a lot of creativity and scrappiness! My transition from being solely on social media to now being on television has also been a challenge for me as I had to become comfortable sharing my life in a more public manner.
Coupling that with being radically honest and quite controversial on social media, I’ve received my fair share of hate. It’s not always easy dealing with backlash but it’s a part of the territory and I signed up for it! I would always rather stay true to my beliefs though than pander to others to be more liked.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
One thing that might surprise most people is that I am quite sensitive and caring. I take things very personally and naturally always strive to deliver advice from a place of wanting to help.
That said, being that I am highly logic driven and direct, my delivery and way of expressing my opinions have sometimes been misinterpreted as harsh. Regardless though, I always say the proof is in the pudding, and I wouldn’t have thousands of positive testimonials if my advice was not effective!
