Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Luz Perez Huczok.
Hi Maria, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I’m Maria Luz, born & raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where also I get my degrees as Architect & Interior Designer, I also excel in photography, digital, and pinhole. I consider myself an Artist, an eternal lover of design.
Every career, I decided to study was related to design, creation, & dreams. Since I’m a kid, I love to be in my cloud and I’m very attracted by things that not everyone used to pay attention to; touching textures, seeing how the movement of things happens, and the amazing art of nature. Watching a movie with me is having someone show you something cool, beautiful, or important that happened on the back or the side of the main point. It’s something that I can’t control, I love details and the story behind everything, those things that give soul to my creations.
My 2 first careers gave me many tools, software, and knowledge of different stages of the story: All those things opened my mind so incredibly that gave me the chance to apply them in the way I want and I can on every challenge life put in front of me.
I arrived in Miami in 2020, and by that time I start looking and learning as much as I can’t about the culture, people, and how they work and live. Since 2022, I had the chance to be able to work here, so I start doing everything that I know to do with a lot of passion, love, responsibility, and of course, professionalism.
Today, I’m doing photography of different kinds, products, food, models, yoga, and sport- architecture and the last one I start doing is maternity. When I first, talk with the clients I like and need to know what are looking for if they have any invitations, and what they want to tell with those photos, as more information I can have, the better will be the result. As I said before, details and that special thing for me make a real difference.
Luckily the reviews, I have are very good! If they like the style of my photography they are so happy and satisfied!
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think that yes, by this time of my life, I learned to see and take things not personally, and learn of every moment and obstacle that I have.
Of course, I had obstacles, challenges, and rude ways of talking to people I worked with; but I know that everything happens for a reason and I learn to move from a place where I don’t belong, even if it’s something I will get money if there no respect and empathy I prefer to move to find a different opportunity.
This road will continue teaching me and giving me a lot! My phrase is: “LOVE TO LIVE, LIVE TO LOVE”.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do photography, I’m an artist and I apply that essence to everything I do. I consider that I’m known for the passion and attention that I put into my work. The main style of my photography is “less is more,” with plain colors, textures, and cool backgrounds. Concerning the light in my work, I always prefer to use natural light, if I need it, I add artificial, but I always show the natural beauty of people and things.
What sets me apart from others I think is: The extra love and attention to what the person wants to feel and say with those photos. I’m also an architect so that runs in my veins always, the care of the experience and sensations of what the person needs and wants to feel in a space teach me too much to apply in photography.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite memory is being in Punta del Este, Uruguay during vacations enjoying the nature of the neighborhood where I used to stay. The smell of fresh pines, the rain, the leaves and trees that have so many textures and colors.
I love to travel in my mind to that time, me laying on the grass looking around, nature and sky, smelling grass and pines.
