Today we’d like to introduce you to Johanna Ocampo.
Hi Johanna, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m Johanna, the founder of Fasttrack-Languages and Fasttrack-International. I’m from Colombia and am very passionate about languages and human communication. Professionally, I’m a linguist, language teacher, and speech therapist.
I have fun creating, guiding, and sharing my experiences and knowledge with others. I have always been in the educational field; my mom had a school, so let’s say I grew up in a classroom. I can also say, I enjoy bringing ideas into reality. My mom was always creating a new business. LOL,” It is my mom’s fault.” I would like to share more about the fast track- International.
Fasttrack-International came into existence after many of the parents who have their children learning languages with us wanted to be part of their children’s learning process by being able to speak the target language as well. Fasttrack International community has grown organically and effectively. We have followed the needs of our adult students and created a program that meets their goals.
Our students learn languages through conversations and exposure to consistent vocabulary and grammar structure. Adults as children need to feel acknowledged, understood, and accepted in order for the learning process to be effective. Our main goal is to help our students learn a second language depending on their various reasons for embarking on this journey such as their children, traveling, work, family, hobbies, friends, etc.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
A smooth road .. there is not such a thing in life I think lol… It has been a learning curve. It is not easy to bring adults to accept guidance with learning once they believe they know what they are doing. Not everyone knows what route to take when it comes to learning a second language. There is so much information out there that it is confusing.
Struggles are learning lessons for sure. Let me mention a few: Marketing adult classes is different from marketing classes for children. With so many short and cheap lessons out there, the market is a bit challenging, tik tok lessons are very popular. Adults need proof of what they are being guided to do when learning a second language. Very detailed goals need to be explained – they want fast results and very little work put in. Lessons can not look complicated – everything should be easy.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I create curriculums and teach languages to children and adults. In addition, I work as a language developer and a speech therapist. I am known as the teacher who can help you develop language skills fast and effectively. Adults and children grow in communication by accomplishing their learning goals with my guidance and specific strategies.
We all should feel deep satisfaction as a result of one’s own existence, qualities, and achievements. Fasttrack-International fosters an environment where students’ learning needs are heard and set goals are met.
How do you define success?
At this point in my life, I truly believe success is just the fact of being alive. As long as you can breathe life can be created in many forms and shapes. As long as we can get in touch with ourselves and be clear on where we are taking every step of our lives, we are successful right there. In other words, success is living life sensibly.
