Daily Inspiration: Meet Lauren Ashley Romanowski

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Ashley Romanowski.

Hi Lauren, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a young girl, I always dreamt of being a model and a hair stylist like my mother. I trained with some very talented and well-known hairstylists, and from there I began modeling for commercial print hair advertisements. I worked as a hairstylist for almost 20 years. I also modeled here and there as well as working as an event model & brand ambassador for various wines & spirits.

I always kept busy as I love making a positive impact on people’s lives whether it be for a couple of hours while sitting in my salon chair getting a hair makeover, for a brief couple minutes making people smile and have fun while attending events, or inspiring other women to embrace their beauty & femineity as a model.

No matter what I was doing I was always touching the lives of others in a positive way. One summer day just before the pandemic my life was thrown upside-down when I attained a life-changing spinal cord injury. My life may have changed but my perseverance became stronger after multiple spinal surgeries. In between those surgeries, I visited South Florida with a group of friends.

I had always visited my Great Grandmother in Ft. Lauderdale while growing up. I loved it there as a child chasing lizards, and tree frogs, fishing with my grandpa, and swimming with my sister & grandma. When visiting with my friends I immediately fell back in love with South Florida and decided I needed to make the move. I felt so much better in my condition in the warm sunny climate.

The only thing holding me back was a career change for my primary source of income since I wasn’t able to physically work as a stylist any longer. Determined to succeed, I put myself through online schooling and obtained my state license(s) to sell life insurance. I connected with a photographer in my network from Delray Beach, booked a photo shoot, and regained all the confidence I needed. I then contacted my agency managers and told them to start sending me bookings to work events in South Florida.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I have had various struggles along the way but, I used my struggles to motivate me as well as inspire those around me. I went through a difficult diagnosis as a teen before there was much knowledge of Lyme disease. Lyme took a toll on me and I still suffer from ailments it has caused.

Lyme caused me to develop Ankylosing spondylitis in my cervical spine where my spinal cord injury is. Prior to my first surgery, I was losing my ability to walk & drive. God has given me this life for a reason and I refuse to give up on my dreams no matter what obstacles (I call them speed bumps) are thrown my way!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a true entrepreneur who always has different sources of income and I love each one of them. I work for an insurance agency helping change others’ lives while selling life insurance products, various event staffing agencies, a social media marketing/influencer agency, and I freelance model.

Despite all I have been through helping people and touching their lives has always been my passion, it’s fulfilling and makes my soul happy. Even if it’s just for a few minutes, influencing their outlook on life, or changing their family’s financial future by creating generational income with life insurance.

I am quite proud of myself, the universe gave me some medical struggles but, I learned and grew from them. I wouldn’t be the resilient woman I am today if it weren’t for my struggles. I’ve created a name for myself and an inspiring story for anyone who has followed my journey through life. In the future, I’d like to start up my own non-profit organization & support group

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love that there is always something to do, whether it be an opportunity for work or going out for personal enjoyment. The culture is a bonus, you can eat food from all around the world just by visiting Miami. There are new people moving here to change their lives just as I have.

The beaches are also the absolute best when it’s not too hot. On the other hand, the traffic is sometimes a nightmare and it’s been a little difficult to make quality lasting female friends who are like me.
