Hi there, I’m Marco Melendez, a graphic designer and 3D animator.
I was born and raised in Valencia, Venezuela by a single mom. From a young age, I found inspiration in video games, which sparked my passion for digital art and design. After completing a post-graduate program in Autodesk Maya, I pursued not one, but three master’s degrees in 3D animation in Madrid, Spain. This helped me to hone my craft and expand my skill set.
Eight years ago, I made the bold decision to leave Venezuela and move to the United States to pursue a career in 3D renders for luxury architecture. Since then, I have made a name for myself in the industry, producing stunning visuals that bring architecture to life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a 3D illustrator and graphic designer in Venezuela, it was incredibly difficult to make ends meet. The economic situation in my home country made it challenging to find work, and when I did, the pay was often meager. Despite the challenges, I persevered and continued to hone my craft.
When I made the decision to move to the United States, I knew that I was starting from zero. It was a daunting prospect, but I was determined to succeed. However, entering a market that was already packed with great competition was not easy. I had to work tirelessly to establish myself and build a reputation in a new country.
The first few months were particularly challenging. I had to adjust to a new culture and find my place in a new industry. There were moments when I felt overwhelmed and doubted myself, but I reminded myself of all the hard work and dedication that had brought me to this point. I spent countless hours perfecting my craft and building my portfolio. I networked tirelessly and took every opportunity that came my way, no matter how small. Slowly but surely, my hard work began to pay off.
Today, I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished. I’ve established myself as a successful 3D illustrator and graphic designer in the United States, and I continue to push myself to reach new heights. Despite the difficulties I faced, I never gave up on my dreams, and that’s what ultimately allowed me to succeed.
