Meet Abraham Alcala

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abraham Alcala.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi, my name is Abraham and I’m originally from Venezuela born and raised and I came to this country looking for opportunities as every immigrant in this wonderful country. Since I was a little young boy, I never thought to become an artist, but god and life gave me this talent, and saying life because thanks to art I have been changing my life every single day.

Art has helped me go through difficult times during my life, and to see the way to get out of those types of situations, I decided to paint when I was 16, and now, I’m 24, that idea came to my mind when I was in my bedroom in Venezuela thinking about the future. Thank God, I have been around talented people like my family, my mother was a wonderful teacher, and my father was an awesome goldsmith. My grandmother is an incredible hairstylist, both of my aunts are singers and bakers.

I also have two brothers one a professional photographer and another a goldsmith. And I’m saying this because without their support I would never be the person that I am today. They gave me the tools to be happy and successful in life, it has been a lot of work throughout the years but I keep painting, I decided to create a YouTube channel called Lucky Abe Artist to show the world that we can do something wonderful with just 2 through 4 materials, like canvas, shoes, jackets and other things as therapy. Art is a life that comes from your mind.

I’m so grateful to have this opportunity to get this interview and preview a little bit of my talent. I’m still working on it to become a huge human being and a huge professional artist. It’s never too late to start, if you didn’t make it in your 20s you can make it in your 60s, practicing everything every day as I did with my English because learning a new language is another life.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Life is not easy but you can change it, like every person I have been struggling to get recognition in this industry and to find my own style. Being away from my family and learning a new language is one of those situations.

Just like this quote “If there is no struggle, there is no progress ” that’s been helping me grow as a person and find my own opportunity in life, but and the end of the day I’m so grateful to be a part of this country and able to speak another language.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a young inspiring artist in Miami who loves to paint and create new realities for people who enjoy art and fashion, mixing materials and ideas that I have on my mind, my work is inspired by the brilliant colors to create a new life in my artworks.

I typically work with fluid acrylics, watercolor, oil, shoes, and clothes I also do live painting shows around the city.

The most I’m proud of is having knowledge of different types of paint.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
I like to be around inspiring people and nature, with those two things I can create my own ideas.
