Rising Stars: Meet Sasha Wilson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sasha Wilson.

Hi Sasha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always had a passion for the arts. Singing and writing have been something that I’ve loved to do since I was a kid.

It’s like a part of who I am. When I was a kid I loved watching Disney Channel and wanted to be an actress. I was always surrounded around fashion as my mother is a sewer. She is and has always been really into fashion and growing up you’d think that my home was half a fabric store haha. Back in 2020, I was talking to one of my friends at the time and they told me that I should get into modeling. Prior, I had wanted to but I just didn’t know how to get into it. I booked a Photoshoot with a photographer in New York and we shot in the dumbo area. I had so much fun and wanted to continue! After I had posted those photos on Instagram, I was scouted by a casting agency and they did a lot of photoshoots and music videos.

I worked with them and did a lot of portfolio building and modeled some music videos for artists. I maneuvered within the modeling industry. I went to fashion show castings and walked in many runway shows such as New York Fashion Week, Miami Swim Week, and Philly Fashion Shows. I am also getting into commercial modeling and am signing with a model and talent agency. Last year in March I began my acting journey and since then I’ve been blessed with the opportunities to feature in some movies and tv shows for major productions. I feel very blessed.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I would say that it has been a journey. I’m always learning something new and meeting new people that have really helped me. I’ve learned a lot. To thrive, you really have to work hard and stay focused and consistent.

Sometimes I do get tired and sometimes I might not feel like going somewhere and doing something but always in the end it is worth it. That has been true in my case. I just get up and make it happen. The wonderful results show with hard work. Show up and be consistent!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a model, singer/songwriter, and actress. I am a college student as well studying for my bsn nursing. When I started college I was a biology pre-med student but later changed my major to nursing.

I have a really great respect for anyone in the healthcare field. I feel like your profession is super rewarding when you’re able to help people. My main focus is to graduate and become a nurse, I have worked as a certified nursing assistant and will be going back into that.

I also though have many other interests such as modeling, acting, and music that I am just as focused on. I never pass up opportunities and love that I am able to pursue and follow all of my dreams. One day when I was on set for a tv show there was actually another cast member that was a medical student which was really cool. It’s nice to see others that have many interests too.

We all have different ways of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is working very hard for something that you want and not giving up no matter what obstacles you may face.

Being focused, investing your time and money, and being consistent in what it takes to get to that final destination.
