Today we’d like to introduce you to Abner Joel Hernandez.
Hi Abner, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I started making music when I was 15, that’s when I dropped my first mixtape. I continued trying to make it as an artist till I hit 20 years old, that’s when everything changed for me. I got caught in a serious case where I had to go to prison and that’s when I decided to stop rapping but always continued to write and produce. When I got out of prison I decided to pursue the business of music and opened a studio and that’s when things started to get serious. I caught the attention of a close friend of mine that I grew up with when I worked at the USA flea market. He turned out to be Farruko’s manager and CEO of carbon fiber music.
When he saw what I was doing I know he wanted to help not only because he is my friend but because he had a bigger vision than me And new ropes. After putting in countless hours with him on projects with his artist he eventually gave me an opportunity to be a label manager at carbon fiber music where I worked for a year. That is where I was able to start building my catalog of songs with artists in the Latin industry. I now have my own record label LGP Records where we continue making music, from writing to video production.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Struggles were going to prison.
Had to prove myself to the streets for people to believe in this brand LGP Records (loyalty gains power). Closed my studio because at the time I didn’t feel that the team I had was putting in the work like I was..had to destroy n rebuild
When I stopped working at the label I felt like I was making a mistake but I also couldn’t live with not knowing if I was able to float on my own out here. I came from always wanting to do what I wanna do. That might be my downfall, but it feels right even if I’m wrong.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Networking and finding a mentor can have a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
When finding a mentor always offer a hand with anything and everything without the expectation of getting paid.
