Exploring Life & Business with Felisha Johnson of Heal Your Story Enterprises

Today we’d like to introduce you to Felisha Johnson.

Hi Felisha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
If you had told me 15 years ago that I would be here, I probably would have laughed at you and walked away. Adversities in my life started at 7 years old when I was taken away from my family and placed in Fort Myers, Florida, Foster Care System due to physical and sexual abuse by family members.

I faced moving from home to home with a black garbage pack with my belongings, abandonment issues, anger, self-mutilation, feelings of hopelessness, and not having a sense of direction or guidance. Yet, despite it all, as I grew older, I always hoped that life would be better one day. During my sophomore year of high school, I married my high school sweetheart and soon realized I had made a mistake.

After my divorce from two daughters, It was then that I decided it was my mission to break the cycle of abuse, neglect, and abandonment. I began to focus on ways that I could better myself and improve my life. I started my first business Trinity Management, a social media management company, and held an executive position within a non-profit organization.

Through those experiences, I learned the importance of hard work and dedication, leading me to success in both my business and non-profit roles. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth every minute of effort. While actively working in the non-profit space, I realized that I was meeting more and more individuals who shared similar stories of pain and hurt; that is when Heal Your Story Enterprises was born to help people begin rebuilding life after the discomfort and pain they faced.

My goal is to use my story as evidence of what is possible when you take broken pieces to create a beautiful story. I now spend my time traveling the world with my husband, Phillip Johnson, and six children, eating fantastic food, and inspiring others to rise from the ashes, break the chains of pain that hold them captive, and be unafraid to live a life after trauma making a better future for themselves. It’s time for us to heal, for real! I truly believe if we can heal, we can heal generations after us.

So if you told me years ago I would be here, I would reply not this misfit? Never! I’m proof that no matter what you’ve been through, there is always a way to make a meaningful life, and I’m determined to show anyone willing to listen that they can do the same. With love, determination, and commitment, they, too, can create their own beautiful story!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Looking back at my journey, I can see how far I have come. From struggling to trust others and build authentic relationships, to gaining self-confidence and a stronger sense of worth. There were many times when I felt like giving up, but I pushed through each obstacle that came and never gave up.

We’ve been impressed with Heal Your Story Enterprises, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Heal Your Story is a wellness program for mental and emotional health, providing guidance, support, and resources that create change from the inside out through our Restore Retreat, Freedom Place Group Community, art therapy, and workshops. Our mission is to help people not just survive life stressors. But equip them with tools to address them in healthy ways.

We specialize in trauma recovery and conflict resolution while focusing on every aspect of life, from relationships to parenting and work-life balance. Our philosophy is that we look beyond the symptoms of a problem and examine core beliefs, behaviors, and thoughts to uncover the root cause of the issue. We don’t just offer you a blank slate or an easy way out. We don’t make promises we can’t keep, but we provide individuals with sure tools that they can navigate the shaky pathway of life’s challenges.

Restore Wellness Retreat is a 3-day experience that I facilitate on the beach so individuals can take a break from everyday life and focus on restoring their mental, physical, and emotional well-being. From meditation on the beach to mindfulness workshops and speakers, the retreat is designed to help that person feel refreshed and rejuvenated. Join us at the September 2023 Restore Wellness Retreat.

Freedom Place is a group community I facilitate with like-minded individuals to gather, learn, and grow in emotional awareness. I provide a safe space for individuals to step out of their comfort zones, gain confidence, and live life in a free place. Free to grow, free to love, free to build, free to heal, free to give to others, free to be themselves. We push boundaries and challenge each other to break out of old unhealthy patterns. We are a community connected by our mutual desire to pursue freedom in every area of life.

No matter what your past looks like, transformation is possible. It takes courage and commitment to overcome obstacles and stay focused on achieving a meaningful life. But if you have faith that you can overcome each challenge, no matter how daunting it might seem, anything is possible. With resilience and dedication to the truth, we can shape our lives into something truly beautiful. Life can be challenging, but the possibilities are endless if you are determined and willing to fight for your desired outcome.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and are any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
A lesson I learned during covid-19 pandemic is that people overcame so many difficult situations and showed great resilience. It’s amazing how the human spirit can overcome any obstacle that life throws at us. No matter how hard it gets, many find a way to come out stronger than before.

Mental health wellness is an important part of this resilience, and I believe it’s something we must prioritize in our everyday life. We have to take time to care for ourselves, and mental wellness can help us to process all the stress life throws our way and overcome it
