Rising Stars: Meet Primo Santiago

Today we’d like to introduce you to Primo Santiago.

Hi Primo, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I came from humble beginnings, most of my childhood was spent between Philadelphia and New York. Then later moved to Miami. I’ve been inspired by many street and luxury European brands. Most recently Virgil abloh was a major inspiration for me to create my brand BRICKELL CLOTHING. Bringing street culture and high-end global fashion into One Vision.Which later became BCBC (BRICKELL CLOTHING).

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Coming from rough beginnings, there were a lot of role models and the ones were street legends, music artists, and athletes. So to have any vision from the places I grew up and came from at one time was very unlikely and visions were blurry.

I  faced a lot of hardships and a complete struggle to change my life from my early situations to dreams and thoughts of making it out of the neighborhood that groomed me into the man I am today! To have a vision beyond your imagination and reach at one time and to see the big picture and actually turn the dream into reality was and still is the biggest part of the journey.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’ve always been a mastermind for Creativity, Art, Business, and Innovation. I created Brickell Clothing and Brickell Brands for the love of design and art. I’m a visionary and I like to express my thoughts and inspiration from my surroundings. I’ve always been known to do and be a part of exquisite artistry. Creating elite ambiance thru my fashion or brand marketing.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters to me the most, is brown and black excellence. Being multicultural myself I want to push the envelope that we (US) Latin and African Americans are the culture we created the art, the sounds, the styles, and the influences.

Now it’s time to financially be equal to all people, especially ones who have been capitalizing off our culture and art since day 1. Time to take back what we created and become equal with the biggest companies in the industry.
