Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacey Pierre.
Hi Stacey, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I believe that I have the ultimate hustler’s mentality. Maybe it’s because I was raised in Brooklyn, but it was just always in me. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York all my life up until I moved to Florida for law school. Prior to my leaving, I had invested in real estate and opened a business; we called it Pristine Posh Management, offering property management, short-term rentals, and cleaning services. However, I really went into law school with the mindset of getting into the government for job and financial security, to live what at the time I considered “my dream life.” But what I learned about myself in the process is that I love being a business owner more. My passion was really within the business industry. Learning the law just made it 10 times better as it opened my eyes to the legal aspects of business. While studying the field I developed a greater passion for helping other business owners elevate their businesses by providing the education I didn’t know prior to law school, offering trademarking services to make sure their business is protected, litigation services, legal agreements, contract drafting and so much more!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In all transparency this journey was not the easiest, nor was it the smoothest. It was one of the most difficult ventures that I’ve had to overcome in my life. Being a first-generation law student of my family and peers, no one gave me the blueprint, I had no shortcuts. I had to put in the work overtime. Graduating law school was one of the biggest, happiest, and most impactful moments of my life. Aside from accomplishing that goal, my whole family was there to support and cheer me on. Not too long later, I took the BAR exam and failed on my first try. I’ve actually had to take it multiple times. But nothing worth having in life is easy and I learned really early that I had to earn this title. Not that I thought it’d be easy, but going through every motion truly humbled me and strengthened my work ethic.
At the same time, I can’t say it was the roughest journey either. I know that I’m not the only person who had disadvantages and struggles. Understanding that I wasn’t alone was one of the main things that kept me going. It only made me want to support people more. I can honestly say, despite the struggles, this was one of the best decisions I could’ve made.
As you know, we’re big fans of SVP Law Firm, PLLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At SVP Law Firm we’re dedicated to providing legal solutions for your creative problems! We offer a wide range of legal services, including trademark services, business consulting, contract drafting, business incorporation services, and more. We help our clients establish high standards for their businesses and bring their visions to life. We’re focused on helping creatives protect their legacy and their brand.
What sets me apart from others is that I’ve became a businesswoman before I became a business lawyer, so not only do I speak from education but from experience as well. I understand firsthand the hurdles of investing in a dream before having a real income. I am now more equipped to provide creatives with the do’s and don’ts of business. For example, people want immediate success but almost always fail to build. I know it’s not always the prettiest, and most fun stage but imagine building an entire brand and getting it pulled right from under you. Or investing so much in a brand that you haven’t protected that someone can steal from you?
What I’m most proud of, brand-wise, is seeing the same brands that started with me take off with brand partnerships, landing deals, and ultimately elevate their businesses, whether I’ve incorporated their business or provided them trademarking services. It’s fulfilling to see a client that started with you have a successful business.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
In all honesty, I don’t believe luck had anything to do with my successes or failures. I’m a faithful believer in God and I strongly believe “you get what you give.” It’s safe to say that all I’ve known was to work hard, so throughout my life and business ventures, I’ve always believed in praying, asking God for what I want, and meeting Him halfway by putting in the work. Everything else is up to Him, I just know I do my part.
