Check Out Widler “WID” Octavius ’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Widler “WID” Octavius .

Hi Widler “WID” , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Thank you Voyage Miami for chatting with me today. Well, the discovery and love of music started for me in church. I came from a Christian background. I went to church with my Grandma, then I got very interested in the youth program and this is where music claimed me. I was a bit shy but I wouldn’t dare do it. I would go home and practice what I have heard in church. I was in the back of the church singing when a brother heard me and motivated me to sing. It has been a great journey and I have progressed a great deal but as a perfectionist, I aim for more.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was a rough ride because the industry requires a lot of devotion, motivation, and charisma. The most difficult part was exposing my talent. The road requires a lot of work psychologically and physically. It also demands a lot of passion because without it there is no way one can last in the music industry.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a polyvalent singer but as a Haitian Artist, I specialized in Konpa which is the most commercialized genre of music for us. Looking back on where I came from, I am extremely proud that I now have my own fans. I have a group of people that is cheering me on and who wants me to succeed. I bring something different to the table because of my style, my lyrics, and my melodies. No one can be WID.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
A musician must first have talent and then be eager to learn, be humble, and be a believer in hard work.
