Brawley is the mononymously known founder and driving force behind Above .500 Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Miami, FL. Brawley and his team have been dedicated to empowering young people in the community for almost a decade through various programs and events. One of their most impactful initiatives is the Ignite the Culture event, which is designed to raise awareness about the power of music and its influence on our culture.
With the help of supporters and volunteers, Above .500 is working to inspire and protect the culture through mental health resources, self-sufficiency programs, and tech upskill workshops. Brawley’s passion for youth empowerment stems from his own experiences growing up in Florida, where he witnessed firsthand the struggles that young people face in disadvantaged communities. He has dedicated himself to making a positive difference in the lives of these youth, and through Above .500, he is doing just that.
Thanks to Brawley’s leadership and dedication, Above .500 continues to lead the charge in empowering young people with the knowledge and resources they need to succeed. With a focus on community engagement and collaboration, Brawley and his team are making a real difference in the lives of countless young people in Miami and beyond.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
For the most part, it’s been a smooth road, some challenges come along the way but I try to stay optimistic and understand there is a reason for the challenges. I found the majority of my challenges sometimes come from being too optimistic, at times I focus on just the positive and the good, including seeing that in people and I would lack discernment when choosing who to work with. People have different intentions, I have to make sure I choose the ones that share the same purpose as me.

Above the .500 mark lies more than just a non-profit organization. It is a comprehensive movement encompassing a clothing brand, an entertainment division, and community events. Our ultimate objective is to imbue every aspect of our work with a positive message, which sets us apart from others. We aim to uplift one another and motivate the community to think independently, maintain a positive outlook, and strive to achieve their aspirations.
Our most prominent event is the annual Ignite the Culture celebrity basketball game, where we unite athletes, actors, artists, and influencers to emphasize the strength of our community when we come together. This event highlights the significance of positive role models for our youth.

Miami’s diversity is what captivates me the most, with its myriad of cultures, delectable cuisine, and abundance of activities, not to mention the year-round summer weather. However, I like the least the traffic congestion and the ever-increasing real estate prices each year.
