Today we’d like to introduce you to Dawn Feinberg.
Hi Dawn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I was and always will be moved by music. Professionally I was a dancer and that will never die. I was also a therapist for adolescents that were suspended from school. It was a program funded by the NYC Department of Ed. Then I married the two, yoga and the kids. The trust established through the client, patient, student, and teacher is profound. Then I moved into solely teaching yoga.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Live is bumpy. Yoga is what I do while I am living. When life is hard then everything is too. Yoga helps take the edge off and makes me better and dealing with everything. The same goes for my journey of opening Ahana. There are and will always be lessons to be learned. I don’t see them as struggles I see them as opportunities, some are tougher than others.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a badass yoga teacher. I care about my student. I am constantly learning. I too have teachers that help me stay grounded. I also know a lot about the body and I am fascinated by it.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I love to lie in bed and watch movies. I love to snuggle with my family. I love water sports.
