Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittani Harvey.
Hi Brittani, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My story begins at the University of Central Florida where I received my bachelor’s degree in Event and Hospitality Management. After graduating I moved back home to Fort Lauderdale to pursue my Career in Events & Hospitality. Before covid the events I specialized in was more on the corporate side like tradeshows, weddings, conventions, medical expos, CEO meetings, etc. After 10 years in the industry, I was ready to start focusing on my own Business but was pretty scared to leap.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a business owner has not been smooth sailing there are obstacles to overcome such as welcoming change, building a solid team, and staying authentic even with competition. One of the things that will help to lessen the challenges is your mindset. It’s very important to work on your mindset every day while in business to be able to perform at your best!
The best advice I can give is to be patient take your time and be gentle with yourself and if it’s not working out right now come back to it at a later time. When facing obstacles it’s always important to extend yourself grace being in business is not easy but it’s worth it. At the end of the day life is about enjoyment and sometimes what that looks like will change but that’s part of the process.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about AME Events LLC.?
I created AME Events to have a safe space for people of color to express themselves and enjoy the experience. The event that is very special to me is Paint N Flow, When I created it last year it was the only Paint and Open Mic Show in South Florida! Now we are the #1 Paint N Open Mic Event in Fort Lauderdale. The event is unique in all aspects from featuring black art, having 10+ Performers, Live painting, R&B Verzuz, local vendors, and more! This is the place Where Creatives Connect!
What I am most proud of my brand is that it creates a safe and free environment for people to be themselves. When your guest starts to say that this is family and they look forward to seeing everyone every month I feel on my purpose. AME Events offers monthly events check out our calendar on the website. AME Events will always be A Memorable Experience with any AME Event you attend!
