Today we’d like to introduce you to Nestor Almuina.
Nestor, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
The rising success of my story began at the midpoint of our global pandemic in 2020. Being out of work and in lockdown at home, I quickly began to think of ways to leverage my social skills into a venture that I believed would carry a legacy and in return become a profitable business. The brainstorming began, and eventually, my best friend and now business partner Osvaldo Concepcion brought Loco Bus Miami into the world.
An open Air party bus company that revolutionized the industry. I had a very big background in the party scene, being 19 years old I had just graduated High School and as a recent college dropout, I always knew I wanted to be in the world of entrepreneurship. Humbly spoken, I carried a big reputation in my high school days being the kid who always made sure an event or party was going on.
From house parties with 300+ guests to Prom afters and even warehouse parties, the one thing I knew and mastered was the ability to make people have a good time. Luckily I chose the right friend to go into business with, carrying a huge background in content creation and Digital Marketing Osvaldo and I used both of our skills to create a relationship extremely beneficial for business growth.
We also used the help of another close friend and silent partner Roberto Maquiera, who was very instrumental in the creation and building of our Outfitted party busses, 4 months after our initial idea we completed the transformation of a retired yellow school bus into a fully outfitted night club on wheels. Tons of work went into marketing, video creations, and company promotions to get our name out, and my extensive history of being a known partygoer came into play here.
A lot of friends and previous attendees of my old parties quickly wanted to be on Miami’s craziest party bus company. Eventually, we began to tender to a lot of new faces and Miami locals along with tourists looking for a new way to party and have a good time. I grew my network very fast, always pushing to meet big faces in the nightlife industry which eventually opened a lot of new doors for my business.
Partnering with nightclubs and events gave me the ability to offer my clients an amazing experience onboard my bus but also having places that would welcome my clients with open arms when they would get off. For the first year of business, I was in a constant grind mode, I had a dream and a plan to execute it. 20 years old at the time, I gave away my weekends to own and operate my business.
I always considered myself to be a people person, I loved interacting with my clients and ensuring the best possible time while they were with me, I wanted every party to remind me of my past and the great times I had as a younger kid. We were eventually able to build a second bus 1 year later after an entire year of holding profits and just working for our business. By doing this I was able to use our first initial investment to pump out 2 party buses.
I currently still operate and work on the buses, and as an owner still do any task from Djing a party to cleaning or servicing our buses nothing is looked down on. I know I speak for myself and my partners saying this, but we never imagined to grow as big as we did or have gotten to where we are now. Going into our 3rd year of business, we have completed over 500 rides.
I moved and motivated myself with the wish to carry out my dream without letting any hardships get in the way. I see myself growing every day and currently have bigger goals and plans for my future. I wish my story can inspire others as well to go out, keep moving forward, and make their dreams a reality. With the spirit of a hustler, anything is possible!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Yes, there were many obstacles along the way. As an entrepreneur, you will always face challenges. If it came easy it really wouldn’t be worth it. I ran into things that I had never seen before.
Especially as a young kid opening a new company and running into legal work and contracts or licensing that I had never seen before. I always looked past all the hardships and kept a positive attitude toward any problems. I’m a firm believer that if you always keep your head up nothing will bring you down.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Loco Bus Miami?
We Americanized the well-known Colombian chiva busses, bringing in our flavor and aesthetics to our busses. We tender to Tourists and Locals and travel through Miami’s most popping locations like Little Havana, Brickell, and Wynwood.
We’d love to hear what you think about risk-taking.
No risk, no reward. It can’t be better said. It’s completely normal to have some fear at the beginning of creating any business or new venture but I think it’s very important to build the confidence to look past any fears and get your ball rolling.
Once you start to see movement, the risk level. starts to decrease and you’ll fall into a great comfort zone that is very pleasing. As long as you’re taking risks you’re doing something right. Just remember to. never lose your momentum once the risk is overlooked.
