Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriela Di Mauro.
Hi Gabriela, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Like many Miami natives, I am first generation American, the (youngest) daughter of two Uruguayan parents. I had a wonderful childhood, growing up in the 90s meant a lot of outdoor playing with the neighborhood kids. I did however grow up in a modest household and saw firsthand the hard work and long hours my parents endured to provide for my older sister and me. And so, at a very young age, it was instilled in me to “work hard and dream big!”
During my formative school years (elementary, middle, and high school), I was always sort of a bookworm and school oriented, I inherited my “academic” genes from my mom. However, growing up I was also very passionate about sports and, of course, my dad would say, my “athletic” genes came from him.
After high school, I attended Florida International University, where I obtained my bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. It was during this time that I began taking legal courses and working for a local law firm. I immediately fell in love with my legal classes and legal work and for the first time in my adult life, I felt purpose and passion for a profession.
Shortly after obtaining my bachelor’s degree, I applied and was accepted into St. Thomas University School of Law. During my law school tenure, I managed to graduate top percent of my class and with high honors, which I think is a true testament to my love of the legal field. Following graduation, my admiration for the legal field further developed, not only did I enjoy the subject matter, but I was now applying the law to “real life” situations to help others.
After working as a licensed attorney for a few years, I decided I wanted to pursue the ultimate American dream, and so in 2022, I opened my law firm, Di Mauro Law. As the founder of Di Mauro Law, I now have an opportunity to incorporate the same hard-working and honest values I was taught and apply them to my legal profession for the benefit of my clients.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As a first-generation American, there were many struggles along the way specifically with the higher education portion of my life. Typically, parents can counsel and help guide their children with schooling matters however, my parents struggled with the English language never mind being able to guide them on university or law school matters. I also had to work while in school as my parents were unable to pay for my expenses.
Although these were obstacles that I faced, they nevertheless molded me and provided the grit I needed to push forward in my legal career.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

I love that Miami is a melting pot and that it is filled with different people from all different walks of life. It also doesn’t hurt that we have great weather year-round!
