Rising Stars: Meet Jacqueline Von Lippke

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline Von Lippke.

Hi Jacqueline, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I was always creative as a little girl. I loved specials in Elementary school. My top favorite specials were Art class and computer class. I would paint, draw, read, and play on the computer and would always be editing videos for my YouTube channel I had back then which was mainly lifestyle vlogs and fashion looks. I knew I wanted to be a fashion designer at such a young age, so I went to a high school that had a fashion academy I ended up starting my own fashion club the class decided to put on an end-of-the-year fashion show. The look I wanted to design was inspired by Ariana Grande’s retro 50s style she had back then so I made a circle dress with a sweetheart bodice out of red taffeta and organza overlay with a little waist design.

It turned out exquisite. Then in college, I started my YouTube channel again and just vlogged my college experience and day-in-the-life videos as well as some lifestyle videos like get ready with me and fashion looks of the week. I also started my Instagram when it first came out posting mainly model pictures from when I would model locally and come up with the theme, outfits, makeup, and hair looks myself. I’m always being creative and making what I’m doing stand in the hope my work and effort get noticed on social media by people in the industry or by brands. I love the creative process. Making something from scratch and seeing the final result is very rewarding and that’s how I felt when I would later start working with brands. I gained organic followers on my Instagram pretty quickly, but it took a lot of work and effort to be consistent and make my posts pop from the rest of what other people were posting, and sticking with a type of aesthetic. My favorite Instagrammer that I looked up to for inspiration is Janice Joostema on IG. I would actually DM her and let her know she was a great inspiration for my page and ask her for tips and we would just talk about life.

One day I actually got the opportunity to meet her and a few other Instagram influencers at the W hotel during one year in Miami for Art Basel. It was a dream come true and I have kept in touch with her from time to time ever since. She’s honestly the sweetest most down-to-earth person. She’s beautiful both inside and out. I continue to learn, grow, and evolve and you can see that by looking at my social media. I like to try new things and dabble in different hobbies. I always get intrigued by something new and like to learn about it. I always wanted to start my own clothing line and currently am teaching myself sewing and the business behind starting your own brand. I am a firm believer in never giving up on your dreams. If not now, then when? Keep dreaming and don’t be afraid of how big your dreams are. Only you can make them happen.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like anything in life, there have been many struggles whether it be academic challenges or life challenges. However, I persevered and never let the challenges obstruct my path to my goals. I always found a way. For example, when it came to Instagram I would do a lot of research and interact with like-minded people within my niche and develop strong relationships and do a few collaborations along the way.

I also went to blogger meetups in my local area to learn and grow my audience outside of Instagram. The blogger organization would host meetups at local venues and would have speakers speak about different topics related to blogging and social media. It guided me and influenced me to continue my social media presence as well as grow my audience and influence.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in lifestyle, fashion, and beauty content across all my social media. I am mainly known for my elegant style and for taking some modeling pictures around south Florida. I am most proud of growing a special online presence that is still continuing to grow today all organically.

I am also proud of the creative work that I do on the side such as fashion designing and digital marketing for brands.

What sets me apart from others is my humble personality, my willingness, and my dedication to the craft, and to helping others pursue their dreams whether it be my influence or my tips.

Networking and finding a mentor can have a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I never had a mentor per se, but I looked up to a couple of Instagram influencers for inspiration and ideas. Such as Janice Joostema, Ellen Vlora, Carli Bybel, and Coco Lili. I would go to network events at least 3-4 events a month.

They had invites to local networking events such as magazine launch parties, Fashion shows, museum events, restaurant events, and more. It was a lot of fun and I met incredible people there. What’s important at these events is to make your own business card.

I made some and would pass them around at these events and have a social media portfolio and model portfolio ready to be emailed in case I found brands or photographers to work with. I was professional yet personable and that helped attract people to me and I informed them to follow me on social media. Just being yourself goes a long way.

Never sound like you’re a salesperson, just be you and that is enough. Also a sprinkle of confidence. Fake it till you make it!
