Today we’d like to introduce you to Pamela Trage.
Hi Pamela, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my design career fresh out of college working in the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, Illinois. I worked for luxury contract furniture manufacturers selling furnishings to large corporations. It was at that time that I learned the importance of design in the workplace. The professional experience was a wonderful environment where I challenged myself to think better, think differently and develop different ways to have a positive impact on peoples lives, work, homes and the environment. I was blessed to be surrounded by professionals who were passionate, informed and stressed the importance of team work and strategic thinking.
My grandparents relocated to South Florida and I had been visiting the area most of my life. I love South Florida and eventually transitioned and moved to the state. Chicago is fabulous and it will always be my second home; nevertheless, the winters can be long and brutally cold.
I worked independently and with licensed architectural and design firms while gaining my experience to qualify to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) exam. At that time I learned so much from gifted architects and talented interior designers. For me, it’s all about the experiences. I had the opportunity to work under the supervision of an accomplished architect and together we designed Indian River Memorial Hospital’s orthopedic wing, surgeons lounge and doctors lounge. I will forever be grateful for his incredible mentorship.
I passed the (NCIDQ) exam and became a licensed professional. What an accomplishment and believe me it was not an easy feat. Of course I had to challenge myself once again and it was at that time that I decided to broaden my area of expertise and learned residential interior design. I focused on luxury residential and model homes. I was fortunate enough to work for a small design firm that was owned and operated by a corporation. Again, a wonderful experience and designed the homes of many corporate executives, professional athletes and nonprofit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Ronald McDonald House in Southwest, Florida.
Currently, I’m focusing my areas of expertise in the Fort Lauderdale and the Miami areas. We are accepting new projects and very excited about the opportunities that are ahead in 2023. We are located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and can be reached at 772.205.9576 or 239.318.9902 or Designersbest@outlook.com. Additionally, my professional portfolio is available upon request
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Is it ever really a smooth road? Anything worth having is never easy. There will always be challenges and many obstacles to overcome; although, the secret is preservation and to always believe in yourself and do your best. Show up, do the work and always be mindful that interior design is a business built on relationships and outstanding customer service.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

We at Pamela Trage Interior Design collaborate with some of the best vendors and artisans in the area and will accelerate the process for you. What are your plans for the future?
Another area that my business plans to expand and focus on is yacht design and renovations. With so many people working remotely, yachts are the place to be in South Florida. The process is extremely detailed and quite frankly, I love everything about it.
We are growing and are in the planning phase of renovating additional space in Fort Lauderdale in 2023. Very exciting!
