Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin Courtney.
Hi Austin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Hey, my names Austin. My exploration and creativity had always gotten me in trouble in a sense because my teachers and classmates thought I was distracting. My whole life I had so many thoughts going through my head as well as ideas. Unfortunately, I never had an outlet to express these thoughts, so I often would find myself wandering around in ADHD daydreams throughout school. It was not until I was much older did, I start taking my creative ideas more seriously. Before I knew it, I had begun expressing myself through the power of the internet. Video creation had become an outlet for me to discover myself and show other people some of the things that I had been thinking about for so long. Video creation for me has quickly become a passion more than a hobby. With the new world that we live in, I want to motivate other people to express themselves as an individual. For so long I had thought individually was difficult until I just dropped my worries and started posting videos consistently. My worry quickly subsided with the surprisingly warm feedback from the online community I have created.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Obstacles are inevitable when chasing and pursuing your goals. An obstacle that I faced to no surprise were the nay-sayers and “realists.” People that I had in my life were not supporting me as much as I had initially thought. It was once the people who were fake about my dreams came to fruition that I was able to finally really express myself. Self-expression is never done easily and is something that many people struggle with, especially with the noise of the outside world. Once I finally moved home from college and had distanced myself from the toxic culture I was surrounded by, was when I finally made progress within myself. If I could have started my journey earlier, I would have, but I was surrounded by the wrong people for a long period of my life.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a video and content creator primarily and do a lot of influencing around that. My videos consist of lifestyle, inspiration, but mainly – the observation of aesthetics. I had started my channels around the different types of aesthetics and what they looked like. A.I. creation has been a huge part of my content because it is a groundbreaking feature of our modern technology. Through A.I. I was able to express my ideas relatively quickly and beautifully. This was the base of what I loved, and over time I began to branch out into other niches such as style, marketing, and even jokes. My work has been centered around featuring ideas that we know into short-form videos for people to enjoy. I now have been investing a lot of time into videography and photography and am very excited for my next venture into long-form content creation.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Consistency is everything. Consistency is what distinguishes anybody from average. This is because it is easy to create content when it is performing well and getting good feedback, but never easy when your content is doing poorly. This is obviously easier said than done, but implementing consistent habits into your life will change your life. On top of consistency, trusting yourself and truly believing that you are worthy of success is just as important. The most successful people in their fields put every bone and fiber into believing they will make it. This is crucial for dominating in whichever field you are in. Picture success, think about it, manifest it, and act on it. The energy that you put towards your goal will return to you – good or bad.
