Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Falcone.
Hi Nicholas, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My career story begins at a young age going into work with my mentor, my father who is self-employed. I developed a passion for work very early on. As I got older, I began work in restaurant jobs and as an athletic personal trainer. I gained great experience from these endeavors that helped me later on as I started my own business.
I’ve always had the goal of being an entrepreneur and after college, I was able to make that dream a reality.
Directly out of college I started working with F&B companies and earned a position as a task force corporate team member that would go into restaurants and turn them around.
I started looking for restaurant companies that I could invest into and become a franchisee; my search led me to BurgerFi (which at the time had only one restaurant). We became the founding franchisees for BurgerFi and purchased the exclusive territorial rights for Miami-Dade County. We opened our first BurgerFi in Fort Lauderdale FL in 2012. Today, we have 7 BurgerFi restaurants, expanding with two more coming soon. We recently became the first Anthony’s Coal Fire franchisee, with a dual BurgerFi & Anthony’s storefront opening soon!
At the end of 2014, I started searching for new ways to grow the business and diversify NDM Hospitality. This led us to the vacation home industry and the eventual founding of Rentyl Resorts. We saw that the vacation home industry didn’t have commercialized brands/resorts to where guests could have everyone together in a home under one roof but also have the ammenitized and standardized resort experience. This was the inspiration behind what we are doing at Rentyl Resorts and became our promise to our guests.
We are blessed to have a lot of success with Rentyl Resorts going from one resort in 2014 to now having over 90 resorts in our portfolio representing over 11 thousand accommodations. We are looking to continue aggressively growing the Rentyl Resorts brand worldwide with developers and hoteliers with residential components.
In the last two years, we’ve also expanded into the spaces of retail management with our company FA Retail, multi-family and long-term built to rent homes with our company Rentyl Apartments, Entertainment management with our company The Entertainment Group, real estate brokerage with our company P4L Realty, and also created in house teams that provide us with software development and a full in house marketing agency.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One challenge I faced was with finding technologies to run our extremely unique businesses. Instead of trying to fit our needs into a box we decided to control our own destiny… We went on to start our own technology software development department within the company. We have built brand systems in-house, including our own master data management system.
