Today we’d like to introduce you to Jefferson Soto.
Hi Jefferson, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Arriving to Miami 10 years ago, I decided as another artist in MIA, work and promote my art around this beautiful city, participating in art shows, Basel, Galleries, Auctions, stores, collaborations. With the pass of the years and with hard work and consistency, 4 years ago Soto Studio open his doors! This house located in the Art and Design District in Miami (Buena Vista) it’s a Private Studio now… but at the beginning was a the location of The Light Market, a monthly event in collaboration with different artists in diverse areas from holistic therapists to theater, bar, music, tattoo and more. A free events for 200 ppls with the only goal of create community and help all the artists to push their products and open a market to sale.
NOW and “after” COVID. The Studio still working as a private place where I work with ART (Showroom around the place) TATTOOS by appointment (@Soto.Ink) and MERCHandising (@soto.arte or Bass Museum) promoting my work with every people who visit the studio every day.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There is always challenges and obstacles in our way but in my case, the big struggles always came from inside! As artist and human, every project: buy a house, open a business, work in a new art piece, independency,… and more… create on us or in our brain anxiety. That anxiety stuck you to think of you are really taking the right decisions and making mistakes.
But with the time and living as an immigrant in another country… you just start to realize that every risk and challenge it’s an experience to push you to go to the next step and believe in your instinct it’s for me the big key in this game.
Just believe in yourself even if you feel scare; that is gonna help you to achieve your goals and win experience.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
