Hi Meesh, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my business officially in 2020-right at the start of the pandemic. Informally, I had been styling for years, always being the go-to for friends and family who needed help figuring out what to wear or how to shop smart. I always found fashion to be something fun. A way for me to create and express myself without having to say it. I’m naturally a quiet girl until I get to know you-the introverted extrovert as I like to say (l0l.) Growing up with very fashionable parents, my style always ranged. I was always “loud” in how I expressed myself through fashion and never adhered to the trends. I always felt the way I styled myself expressed who I was on the inside: crazy, fun, creative, and unique, something you didn’t learn until you got to know me.
When I decided to get into styling, I discovered that most of the clients who came to me were the same way but rather found it a challenge to accurately express this through their outfits! All of them had personalities that didn’t seem to match on the outside and I was able to transform their style to highlight their inner selves and bring out that self-confidence. Majority of the clients I get are the ones who are ready to take risks and express their inner selves through bold prints or by mixing in a statement piece with their favorite basic but just aren’t 100% comfortable yet in taking that leap by themselves. That’s where I found I fit in perfectly. Not only do I do this for myself already, I love the ability of being able to bring out a client’s confidence that was always there but just needed that little extra push! So that’s why I became a stylist: to help them bring out their full selves to the surface and make sure they look good while doing it! I have been blessed in my two-year journey to continue to do what I love and continue to learn more about myself in the process. I hope to continue doing it for as long as I am blessed with!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
While I would love to say this journey has been smooth sailing, that is nowhere near the case. Social media today makes everything and every journey seems as though it’s picture-perfect, especially in the small business world. I definitely have been victim to this myself, portraying only the wins and never the losses. We’re human, of course, we wanna hype up ourselves by only celebrating the highlights, but in reality, it is also important to share the real and that includes the losses and failures as well.
In all transparency, my first two years in business haven’t always been the easiest. There have been months where I never got a client, issues with working with others on project, or even times where clients’ items got lost. But in the end, somehow everything always worked out how it was supposed to. Looking back, every loss or failure to me was meant to happen in order to get me to where I am today. With every loss comes a lesson and only allows me to continue to grow for this long journey I have ahead of me.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My best advice to someone looking to network with others would be don’t be scared to reach out first! Most often or not people tend to be timid when it comes to reaching out to others in fear that they will be rejected. My go-to is always just do it! The worst thing that could happen is someone says no to a collaborate or doesn’t respond at all. And if this happens, you weren’t meant to work with them anyways!
When I first started my business, I only used social media to promote myself. I knew in order to build my brand I had to start connecting with other like-minded individuals in my niche. As a result of commenting, messaging, and putting myself out there I was and have continuously been able to connect and work with some amazing brands and individuals who to this day, are some of my biggest supporters and vice versa! It’s funny because I’ve never even met some of these people in real life, but we support each other like we’ve been friends for years. To me, it’s all about understanding there’s room for all of us to eat! In order to receive you must also give forward and I pride myself in remaining humble and authentically myself because I know my energy speaks for itself and want my brand to reflect that as well. If you never take the chance, you will always regret not doing so-trust me, if it scares you then you should definitely do it!
