Daily Inspiration: Meet Honey Ribar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Honey Ribar. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Going viral with over 500,000 views in under 3 days, Honey Ribar has captured the hearts of fans both domestically and internationally with her unparalleled powerhouse vocals. She balances a successful YouTube channel of 3.5 million+ views with numerous live performances including Madison Square Garden, the Excel Energy Center, and the Nassau Colosseum. Her infectious personality and insane vocal talent have been recognized globally by celebrities including Zendaya, Hunter Hayes, and James Franco.

As well as having a massive following across all social media platforms, Honey has placed in the top 3 of major worldwide competitions on popular music websites including RyanSeacrest.com, BuzzFeed, and many more.

After the release of her debut singles “Rumors,” “Plastic” & “Have Mercy” Honey exploded into the music scene with a distinct Pop sound that will launch her as a dominant force in the music industry.

Honey has been a busy bee over the past year, writing and recording a line-up of fresh, new music. A few months after the pandemic hit, Honey’s struggle with addiction had taken a positive turn when she decided to get sober. While in recovery, Honey spent time writing and focusing on the 8 dimensions of wellness, in which she was able to process her emotions and dig deeper into the root of her pain and past trauma. Honey’s new music takes us on her journey of recovery and showcases extreme emotional depth with songs like “Oh Lawd” and “Sleeping Ugly.”

Her single “This Time”, produced by Italian DJ Teo Mandrelli (feat. yesh) received radio play throughout the UK and has been featured on Spotify’s discover weekly, along with her singles “Better Than This” and “stable.”

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
This industry has never been easy, and I think that’s the point. Who can grab your attention and hold it?

That’s always been my ultimate goal as an artist. Growing up I listened to the powerhouse vocalists… Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey. They all captured my attention, and I knew that if I could harness that same talent, I could keep people engaged with my music. I have always writing music that means something to me or stems from something deeper within me (a story, an experience). It wasn’t always easy writing about my struggle with addiction, but it was necessary. And the payoff has been more rewarding than I ever imagined possible. I’ve found that vulnerability is something everyone seeks. We need authenticity in this world, and I’m the one to bring it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My specialty is vocal performance. I’ve been singing and studying music since I was 5 years old and graduated a year early from NYU. After graduating, I found myself on tour and performing throughout the country at regional theaters. Feeling burnt out, I decided to venture off and begin writing/recording my own music. I’d say some of my greatest accomplishments are becoming a member of the recording academy, having my music in consideration for the Grammy’s, on the radio, and hitting over 3 million plays on Spotify. I still have a long way to go, but I’m grateful for the moments that remind me that I’m doing what I’m meant to be doing.
