Today we’d like to introduce you to Arielle DiSciascio.
Arielle, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a professionally trained dancer, and as a dancer, I found growing up it’s important to maintain an inward and outward well-being. I developed a passion for skincare young and started with doing DIY skincare/research on skincare ingredients on my downtime but was also traveling the world with artists. When covid hit my whole dance career went on pause so I took that year or so to go to Esthetician school and shortly after finishing school I started working at Face Fit Bar in Miami Beach under Lana Mar. I am now able to pursue both passions of mine, skincare, and dance. Dance has made me who I am today. It’s allowed me to travel to countries I’d never thought I’d see, work alongside A list artists accomplish goal unimaginable, and throughout all that I’ve created friendships that’ll last a lifetime. Being an esthetician has made me a more confident woman. The industry itself has challenged me to learn about the ongoing growth of new skincare methods, products, and business. I found that helping others with their skin also gives them a sense of confidence and when I see that glow from within it just reminds me how much I love what I do.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As with any career starting off has had its challenges. I have always had an interest in skincare but my schedule with dancing didn’t allow me to devote the time to train so when the pandemic hit forcing the entertainment industry (and everything) to shut down I found myself with more time which allowed me to purse my skincare training.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I realized dance was my first love at an early age. I knew I wanted to pursue this as a career around 12 / 13 years old. My parents were extremely supportive of me and helped further my training by taking me to one of the best studios in Miami, Dance Attack. I was able to train in all styles at Dance Attack Miami, I was taught by reputable teachers who which prepared me for the real world.
I quickly realized this industry is not easy and comes with a lot of “Noes” before “Yeses” but the main reason I have achieved so much (along with keeping up with my training) is because I genuinely love what I do. In simple terms, it makes me and others happy.
A recent goal I’ve accomplished within the last 3 years has been becoming an esthetician. Throughout training / traveling for dance, I found that taking care of my skin was a huge priority for myself and career. With the downtime from the pandemic, I went to school and shortly after graduating started working under Lana Mar at Face Fit Bar. Taking care of others and making them feel beautiful has become a passion of mine. I am definitely proud of myself for listening to that voice of curiosity I had inside of me because now I have two careers that I can say I’m truly in love with. If you want it, you have to go and get it.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
During Covid, I realized life is too short to wonder, go after what you want, and achieve it. Live in the moment and try not to stress the little things (still working on that).
