Daily Inspiration: Meet Suana Callum

Today we’d like to introduce you to Suana Callum.

Hi Suana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began pretty much as soon as I got out the womb. I’ve always been in my mom’s heels walking up & down until I just fell in love with it. That’s when I knew I wanted to be a model & also active in the pageant field. At the age of 13 is when I took it seriously. I then got signed by a few agencies & then I realized I can be further without them, so I left. Fast forward a few years; I became a professional model, car racer, go-kart racer, makeup artiste, runway, pageant & etiquette coach. I also recently came out with my signature fragrance which can be worn by both male & female. I’m also a humanitarian who created a foundation to give support to persons experiencing challenges in providing themselves with the various necessities. It is called “The Suana Callum Multifaceted Foundation.” We’re planning to go out & distribute goods for families out there. My mom being a former pageant Queen is the inspiration behind most of my aspirations. She used to take me to Dover quite often so that really made me fall in love with cars & going fast & I’m super happy I did. Being a 20-year-old with these accomplishments, I am extremely proud. I’m also super happy that I can influence other people to be great & never give up. I’ve received a tremendous amount of support from my family & loved ones. I’m currently training for both international & local racing competitions which I’m super excited about. It’s really because I’m never one to give up & I’m very determined. That’s really why I’m here where I am today.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, especially when I just started. I remember being declined by model agencies because of my height. Their requirements were like 5’9 & I was only 5’6.5. Other challenges would have to be not reaching the right clients in the time frame you think you could’ve but it’s a career & it’s all about marketing. I changed my strategy & there was major change in how things were flowing.
