Community Highlights: Meet Christian Sanon of Look Up Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian Sanon. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Look Up Therapy got its start during the COVID-19 lockdowns. When our employer let us go in early 2020, we saw an opportunity to chase our dreams a little earlier than we had imagined. The pandemic had caused therapy clients to stop coming to the office and stop welcoming therapists into their homes. But it didn’t eliminate their need for our skills or our desire to serve. We felt determined to change the way that clients receive their therapies in the center, at home, and at school. So, we took every last bit of savings we had and poured it into founding Look Up Therapy, LLC.

What’s in a name?

We’re often asked how we got the name “Look Up Therapy.”

Our cofounder’s mother loves to listen to Lauren Daigle. One day we visited her, and “Look Up Child” was playing. It’s an inspiring, encouraging, and hopeful song. At the time, we were in the process of selecting a name. We loved that we were in the business of helping people look beyond today, its challenges and circumstances. We look for opportunity, and we have faith. This song perfectly captured that. So, we landed on “Look Up Therapy.”

Christian E. Sanon II worked as a registered behavior technician. In true “achiever” fashion, he also was completing his master’s degree and served as the proud owner of a company that celebrated the vegan lifestyle.

Tiffany (Mabin) Sanon joined the company as an occupational therapist. She looked forward to working on a team with multiple therapy disciplines. They met through their collaboration on several clients’ programs. Over time, their shared interests blossomed into a friendship and continued growing.

In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic canceled their wedding, but not their love. They married that March and bought a home shortly thereafter. And then, they poured everything that remained into founding Look Up Therapy in April 2020.

Today they are changing the way children receive therapeutic care.

Their 1900-square-foot West Palm Beach facility provides applied behavioral analysis and occupational and speech therapy to children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder and other diagnoses. Christian oversees the behavioral therapeutic care programs, and Tiffany conducts occupational therapy. They share administrative tasks, with Tiffany overseeing the design and planning and Christian supporting family care, scheduling, onboarding, and more. When they’re not busy with the center, they’re busy taking care of and being entertained by their first son who arrived in late 2021. The family lives in Palm Beach County.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but we have been pushing through it. Initially, it was challenging to find quality staff, understand the industry, and adjust quickly to all the changes. We started our business during COVID-19 when many were being laid off. God inspired us to go for it and didn’t hesitate.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Look Up Therapy?

We are looking for donors and individuals who are eager to learn more about the field. The work is challenging and having others who are willing to work with us means the world to our organization. Also, we would like to help others too. So, we are open to the community.
