Hidden Gems: Meet Kelly Anne Smith

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Anne Smith.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Just over six years ago, I was living paycheck to paycheck, deep in student loan debt, and didn’t know how to manage my money. I decided enough was enough, I was going to learn, and I was going to share my journey on the internet for everyone to see. I created a YouTube channel, Kelly Anne Smith, and shared what I was learning about money, documenting my journey to pay off my debt, and over time my whole life started to morph into my dream life.

I had a huge mental shift halfway through my journey from pinching every penny to growing my income and creating income streams outside of my day job.

Now I help other inspiring entrepreneurs find their skills and teach them how to start their own online business, whether it’s becoming a virtual assistant, freelance writing, blogging, selling digital products, creating courses, or starting their own YouTube channel like I did.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all! I had to learn how to edit, how to talk in front of a camera, and not say um every other word. My first YouTube video I said Um 46 times in a 6-minute video! I’ve also received countless hate comments telling me how much they hate me to advising me that I need to start saving for a divorce.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am passionate about helping others find their WHY and the skills that they already have and teaching them how to monetize those skills. We can no longer rely just on our day job for income, teaching my viewers and students in Dreamer To Profitable how to create multiple streams of income is so important to me. If we don’t have the foundation of our WHY concrete then when a bump in the road or burnout happens it is so easy to give up, but if we do then we stop serving and helping others.

What makes you happy?
Coffee. Coffee makes me happy! But in all seriousness, serving others is something that was ingrained in me from a young age. Whether that was having a conversation with a person sitting alone at the lunch table to going to places like Haiti, Jamaica, and Africa on mission trips, to seeing the light in someone as their figure out their passion. I love seeing that spark in people and try to find a way to create it in someone every day.
