Hi Jamiyah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I honestly don’t know where to begin. I always had an entrepreneur mindset from a young age. I started my first platform when I was 15 which was YouTube. I use to be in school just finding new creative ideas to upload to my channel. I grew a high platform with YouTube and began selling hair which was “Miyahextensions“ that didn’t last long with me, but I didn’t give up. Not too long after that “MiyahMerch” came about. “Miyah merch“ is my clothing brand. A clothing line that’s based off things I like to wear. After doing great off of my clothing business selling out each drop, I began to do individual lashes “Minkmepink”.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road was not easy at all with each and every business I’ve had. I always had people doubt me and count me out. Trying to not spend inventory money. From not being on time uploading. Checks was always different amounts. Growing each platform was extremely hard for me.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
On my daily life, I make money from Instagram. I do a lot of Instagram promotions to keep the coins in my pocket. I’m known for YouTube I have a great personality that a lot of young women love about me. A lot of young women look up to me and that’s one of the main things I’m proud of. Knowing I helped and gave great advice to another person really brings tears to my eyes. Me being open and honest with my life & Things that happen in the real world is what really sets me apart from others.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
BIGGEST shoutout to my parents!! They have been supporting me since day one! Any and every business I ever had they was always with it and always supporting. My boyfriend Chrisss always was giving me ideas and the different platforms to make new money. I also want to acknowledge my friends my 2 besties who’ve been here since my first YouTube video (Nyomi & Asia). My big brother CA. My sister Mari. My friend Mari. My stylist my creative mind Jayjay. Last but not least my Manger Eli.
