Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose Mizrahi. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Born in Mexico, based in Miami. Started working in the cruise industry right after graduating from FIU with a Finance/Marketing double major. After working for two years in cruise logistics and destination marketing Jose was presented with an opportunity in the entertainment industry, a path partially explored but not yet conquered by then.
Jose joined the newest concept show produced by Telemundo, in which reality tv, game show, and extreme obstacle course competition blended in to create the ultimate tv experience. This show established a point in Jose’s life at which he decided to immerse fully in the entertainment industry, leaving the cruise industry behind.
As the show reached its finale, Jose excelled in his performance, and this brought the next project to him. He hosted a music talk show for the next year, interviewing singers, artists, and leaders in the music and entertainment industry for two seasons, while also preparing as an actor.
He is currently shooting a scripted tv show, co-hosting a talk show with his sister, Emma Mizrahi, producing and hosting other shows, screenwriting, and creating content as an influencer and photographer.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This shift in career paths has not been easy at all, especially jumping from a stable marketing and logistics position to the uncertainty of the entertainment industry. However, his flexibility, versatility, and persistence have been key for him to excel and build his road.
Some of the struggles one faces in entertainment as a talent or actor is the volatility of projects. As an actor one must work very hard in building the best proposal for a self-taped casting, hope to align with the production’s vision of the character, and be ready to dedicate long hours days for months at a time, but when that represents something you love then it is not a burden but a blessing.
Every early call time, every 12-hour shoot day, every night with only a few hours to sleep, travel, and intense emotional investment are only a few aspects of life in showbiz.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do not focus on labels in terms of what you do, because they can easily become a limit and constraint to your potential, highlighting one and neglecting other possibilities.
The areas I’m currently involved and working in are acting, hosting, modeling, photography, social media, content creation, web design, and management, amongst other things. You can explore my work in all the different areas on my website: http://josemizrahi.com
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Wake up every day and can find a moment to say thank you for all the little things that make up my life, the people I surround myself with, being grateful for being healthy, and having to opportunity to do what I love. That makes me happy.
