Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Anton Himmel.
Patricia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My daughter and I founded VIOLETAS in 2011. We were influenced by our global travels and fashion – combining the two into a lifestyle retail concept we were able to merge these incredible industries offering the best in home decor and accessories. People like to entertain and when welcoming guests into their homes they like to have beautiful decor, combined with amazing furniture and art.
We love to host at our own homes and VIOLETAS allows us to share our love for home decor and styling with friends, clients, and designers. Today, we have two stores, one in Coral Gables which is considered our Flagship. In May, we reopened in a bigger location on 257 Miracle Mile. The new 2,300 s.f. the flagship in Coral Gables features an interior layout designed to feel as if you have just stepped into the chicest living room in South Florida.
A contemporary living room setting in organic tones welcomes you styled with black and white accessories leading to a classic foyer table elegantly displaying layers of Fornasetti candles. VIOLETAS’ signature color is violet, a reflection of our desire to create a harmony of the mind and encourage inspiration and creative pursuits.
Our second location is in Brickell City Centre in the heart of this thriving neighborhood. Our Brickell City Centre location is a gem inside the mall, located on the second floor, with a large selection of our Baccarat collection in addition to brands like Lladró, Fornasetti, Lalique, Assouline, Missoni, L’Objet, and more.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
One of the biggest challenges we faced was during the pandemic, but we were able to adapt and determine that we could still offer our services. With everyone at home during the pandemic, people started to invest in their homes. We decided to offer contactless at-home delivery and we saw our business grow tremendously during this time.
We were closed like everyone else and reopened in May to continued orders and increased demand. We pride ourselves on always planning ahead and maintaining a level of in-stock selections so that our clients and designers can continue to shop VIOLETAS both in-store and online.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
VIOLETAS is a Miami home decor and accessories boutique. We have locations in Coral Gables and Brickell City Centre. We offer an eclectic repertoire of hand-selected, exclusive home decor and accessories sourced from around the world – there isn’t a store like ours in South Florida.
It is our goal to bring one-of-a-kind items to Miami that give interiors personality and radiance through artfully selected accessories and décor. Specializing in unique home expressions, furnishings, accessories, and remarkable gift items, VIOLETAS showcases a mix of eclectic signature influences that combine classic edge design and elegant charm.

The boutique’s colorful spirit and unique modern style offer fresh and unexpected ways to incorporate color and flair into interiors through original antiques, decorative tabletop accessories, luxurious throw pillows, gorgeous cowhide rugs, stunning Baccarat chandeliers, brilliantly crafted furniture, and more.
We premiere a wide variety of brands such as Baccarat, Christofle, Fornasetti, Hermes, Saint-Louis, Lalique, Lladró, Le Jacquard Francais, L’Objet, and Missoni Home amidst artwork from Asia and Latin America. These distinctive lines are supplemented by one-of-a-kind, hand-selected exotic jewelry – all rare to Miami – from the United States, Asia, and Europe.
We love to work with new homeowners, interior designers, stylists, and brides. We also offer a trade program with exclusive benefits to interior designers.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I come from a long background of retailers. I’m originally from Ecuador, where my family has been in the retail industry for 60 years. I have been attending international trade shows since I was young. My parents have been my mentors throughout. I guess you can say it was destiny for me to open VIOLETAS.
