Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Denson.
Hi Jessica, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey started at an internship while in college in 2011. I interned at a nonprofit counseling center and thrift store. While completing my clinical work, I had to spend time in the mornings in the thrift store. I would dress up the mannequins each morning with clothing and accessories. My supervisor at the time would stop me and say “Jessica, you have an eye for fashion, everyone wants the mannequin outfits you have put on display.” At that time, I just laughed it off, not worried much about pursuing fashion. In 2013, I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Social Work and in 2014 earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work. I am still currently in the field, fulfilling God’s calling on my life to help the unfortunate. Years later, after graduating God kept giving me the same dream about starting my own fashion business for women. While he kept showing me this in my dreams, a prophet came and prophesied to me telling me the same thing God was showing me. Confirmation!! So, In 2019, I stepped out on faith and started Jess Have Faith Fashions LLC a personal styling service. We create wardrobes for women for (photo shoots, new wardrobes, theme parties, new moms, vacations, church, business affairs, work clothing, weddings, baby shower, engagements, etc.) We also customize virtual lookbooks, where we send shopping links to our customers so they can order outfits and accessories on your their own terms. Jess Have Faith Fashions help women find their hidden confidence with style. Because after you prayed, get up and slay!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In business, you have both smooth and rocky roads. I’ve been blessed with great success with booking clients, events and networking with others. However, in 2020 the world changed and people priorities were put on the line. A lot of events were canceled and many people lost their jobs. So, I had to realign some things. I started offering my virtual lookbook services and also selling clothing and accessories online. When you are starting a business, you are the visionary, researcher, marketer, financial advisor, and much more. I relied on my faith in God to give me insight how to maneuver with the change. I adjusted and my business is still thriving and most importantly, God is still enlarging my territory.

We first offer personal styling services. If a woman is not good with putting pieces together, we do their hard work. Consultation is where we begin. We create wardrobes for women for (photo shoots, new seasons clothing, theme parties, new moms, vacation, church, business affairs, work clothing, weddings, baby shower, engagements, etc.) We also customize virtual lookbooks, where we send shopping links to our customers so they can order outfits and accessories on your their own terms.
What sets us apart from others is that we find exclusive pieces to fit your needs. We offer high-end brands and common retail brands. We fit the woman’s budget! We love stepping out the box for women who normally don’t. But the choice is all theirs.
I’m most proud of the outcome of every opportunity with a customer. They come back from events or photo shoots more happy about themselves. They come back telling me about their compliments and how they put a good word on my business.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My advice to anyone starting out is believe in your vision and don’t give up! You will have people you known for years and not support you. But strangers will. Remember why you started in the first place. Take your time to learn as much you can, and stay humble. You won’t see all results in one day or week. But, each day you get better at promoting, communicating, and providing exceptional services. You have to work your business in order for it to work.
