Today we’d like to introduce you to Niko Nikolaidis.
Niko, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
After completing my studies in marketing management, I fell into a deep personal hole. Art got me out of this hole six years ago and that’s how my journey began. After exhibitions in Miami, New York, China, Spain, Germany came the most important time of my life. Corona. A time in which I learned to redefine my art and everything that accompanied me in life. Pain became healing, art was my key and love was my way. Human potential became my highest inspiration. My artworks serve as a symbol of my inner journey.
In order to unfold the full potential of a person, he has to conquer himself again and again. This experience led me to the decision from March 20th, 2022 to hold a 9-month vow of silence. This process of return, the journey into the deepest part of me, will carry with it the most significant experience in my life and in the quality of my art. A pregnancy that will eventually flourish into a new inner order.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest obstacle was myself. I had to learn what it means to be a true artist. I emptied my mind, I emptied any inspiration that came from outside until nothing was left but a deep emptiness. A void from which a light shone. This light was my inner child, a new source of inspiration that redefined my art. She laid the foundation for my style, I understood that in order to draw from this source I must become the emptiness that dances as all things.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
The unconditional surrender of his powers, his inspiration and his will. The will for change. It is precisely these moments that inspire us. Moments in which we believe. Moments that give us strength, wisdom and courage. The nature of my art is the concentration of this energy, innovation and sustainability. My art is quite simply the outer manifestation of my inner journey. The intention is not to explain or define the art, just to inspire you to discover the true nature of love. The love for creative development, connected with all senses, connected with passion and creativity.
I wasn’t created to decorate walls or cars. My art is an instrument of courage, strength and wisdom, an instrument of change, an instrument of love and hope. Knowledge without experience is called philosophy. Justify with me this new kind of philosophy, in which we combine two highly developed technologies and prove to the world that in such times it is worth not only going with change but defining it yourself. We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I had to experience many negative events in order to get to the strength and intelligence I have acquired today. Without these moments, we can only grow personally to a limited extent.
