Meet Tahnika Keyshay

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tahnika Keyshay.

Hi Tahnika, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started doing music and modeling at the young age of six. I was always into talent shows, music, beauty pageants, and posing for the camera! In middle school, I started writing poetry and by the time I hit high school, I started writing R&B songs and raps! It wasn’t until my mid-20s, I decided to start taking my music career more seriously. My first serious project was a remake of (Ying Yang Twins) “I yi yi yi yi”! This really created a BIG buzz for me & I got co-signed by the Ying Yang twins, also when I remade a female version to (I need A Hit Girl) HotBoyTurk co signed me as well. And from there, I made my own Hit-Single called “Perpetrator” and boom the rest was history.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. I didn’t grow up with a golden spoon, so I had to make my own way. Granted I did have kids fairly young and that of course really changed my life and slowed me down. I also suffered from depression after dealing with losing their father.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Honestly, I do many things lol. I’m the Queen of all trades! I’m an author, rap, model, do hair, inspire and lots of other things! I would say I specialize in modeling, rapping, and doing hair! I’m most known for rapping, modeling, and doing hair! I’m most proud of being a mom and following my dreams! It’s not easy being a single mom of two and a dream chaser at the same time. I would say what sets me apart from others is I came in this industry as me! I didn’t need an alter ego to jump-start my career!

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is knowing I can’t do it all alone! Have a team is extremely important!
