Conversations with Maximiliano Álvarez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maximiliano Álvarez.

Hi Maximiliano, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Me and a couple of friends started in Medellín Colombia ten years ago with our first Burdo brand and in these years we have managed to consolidate 14 restaurants in the country, being Medellín where the most venues we have. It was always a priority to grow up, and we thought Miami was a great option for our brand and we brought Burdo who adapts the must to the neighbor that is wynwood.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not easy at all, but we believe in the concept that we bring to the city and we trust that everyone will love it. The most difficult thing has been finding ourselves in a new country with new rules to carry out our construction, but in the end, everything has turned out excellent.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are a hospitality group that is always creating new innovative concepts that we come to this country to grow exponentially. We are proud to have come this far after a long road but with our authenticity and creativity, we will do great things here.

What makes you happy?
Spending time with my family is what makes me happiest. I try to spend a lot of time with them.
