Today we’d like to introduce you to Diego Aguirre.
Hi Diego, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
3AM TECHNO started in 2017 with the idea to promote the local (Costa Rica) electronic music scene through video content. No one was doing something similar in the country back then, and the scene was getting stronger but there was no record of that on any social media.
We began just capturing videos with an iPhone, there were no big sponsors, no big equipment; our philosophy was simply to spread the word about how good local DJs and the overall scene was in Costa Rica. We got noticed pretty quickly, lots of electronic music lovers around the World started following us on Instagram, they were curious.
Soon after promoters in the U.S and Europe contacted us and invited us to do video coverage for their events, some names I can recall right now are Ocaso Festival (Costa Rica), SXM Festival (Saint Martin), Rapture Festival (U.S), DGTL (Spain), among others.
Our secret is to keep it simple, raw, no edition, what you see on our social media is what really happened, and I think ravers truly appreciate that. In order to keep evolving the brand, we started doing events this year with international DJs (Oscar L, Ramiro Lopez, Marc Houle, QNETE) and so far the experience has been really positive, our community has given us lots of support.
3AM TECHNO has evolved from being a blog to a marketing agency specialized in electronic parties, we’re currently offering digital communication services (website creation, advertisement, graphic design), logistic services (online ticketing, location scouting, staff), and information services (consulting, statistical information).
Finally, we are starting a project for safe raving based on the responsible consumption of substances (including alcohol) where we offer psychological and health support to anyone requiring it.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Since we were pioneers in the communication of local parties, it was hard for us to get access to clubs or events since the promoters thought we just wanted free tickets.
They didn’t understand the added value of proper communication through social media. As event planners, the struggle is getting people to actually buy tickets and not asking for the guest list.
This is a worldwide problem, every company we know in this industry struggles with people wanting top-notch parties for free, making it financially unfeasible in the long run.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Diego is specialized in investment banking and data analysis, his daily work is focused on marketing specifically data analysis and visualization for the entertainment industry in the U.S.
His main hobby is videography and his passion is electronic music. The blend of these skills matches perfectly with 3AM TECHNO.
Daniel owns an advertisement and digital marketing company based in Costa Rica and Spain with clients around the World. His specialization is business management which is reflected in the strategy and logistics applied to every 3AM TECHNO event.
What matters most to you? Why?
For us, the sense of community is what really matters, people having an experience, and sharing with them the joy of having good DJs playing at our parties is what really prevails in our memories, hence, our mindset is driven by that.
