Meet Ashley Gonzalez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Gonzalez.

Hi Ashley, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started with my parents wanting better for their future kids and their lives, so they migrated from Cuba to the states. I was born and raised in Miami, FL. I am 25 years old, and the first university graduate in my family.

Being the first to graduate in my family definitely feels amazing. I get to show my parents that giving me the American was all super worth it. I work as a full-time realtor now, helping people relocate to Miami, or sell their current homes and buy their dream homes.

Truly if it wasn’t for my parents I would not be who and where I am today. Growing up I was a dancer. I have been dancing since the age of 3. Being on a dance team/studio helped me gain the leadership skills I have, discipline, and charisma. I love living my life in balance, working hard, play hard.

I love to travel and see the world from different eyes and understand how different we all can be as humans.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Only being 25 years old, I can’t say my life has been super hard, I have been super blessed by my parents, but like everyone, I have encountered some tough bumps on the road! I feel like the older I get, the more I find myself telling “wow my parents were right.”

There are many times we young adults, and kids, don’t want to listen to our parents but there are times when our parents were right about certain situations even tho we don’t want to admit them. I can tell you multiple times when my mom would tell me that some of my “friends” weren’t really my friends. The man was right.

Some struggle I have found myself recently encountering is figuring out exactly what my career path is going to look like. I recently got my bachelor’s in finance, from Florida International University I always wanted to get my CPA.

Throughout attending the University, I worked at Orange Theory Fitness, then as an Audit Intern at an amazing Accounting Firm called Caballero, Fierman, Llerena & Garcia, LLP, then Back at Orange theory Fitness, and then I got my real estate license and now working Full-time in that after graduating.

I am trying to figure out my niche in real estate.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Besides working as a full-time real estate agent, I am also a dance instructor, I teach those who want to learn how to shuffle.

I have always had a passion for dancing since the age of 3. I danced ballet, pointe, hip-hop, jazz-funk, salsa, belly dance, and contemporary. I never saw myself as a teacher but I feel so honored to be able to teach my passion and see others progress, see how happy they are when mastering a choreography I teach them.

It’s very rewarding, I only hope to continue my passion is dance, keep practicing myself, get better and hopefully live my dreams of going on tour with an artist.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always a bubbly person, I always had that passion for dance so if I wasn’t in school I was at dance practice, or hanging with my family.

I am a very family-oriented person. My parents couldn’t have given me a better childhood to remember. We would go on so many vacations, Because of my parents, my sister and I have been able to see the world.

I thank them for giving me a great education, always giving me anything I want, (yes my parents did like to spoil us I will be honest about that).

Since little, I have always been a huge foodie, So food has always been my favorite besides dancing!
