Community Highlights: Meet Stephanie Quinto of Catching Dreams Sleep & Behavior Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Quinto.

Hi Stephanie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Catching Dreams truly started five years ago when I was a first-time mom- an exhausted first-time mom and at my wit’s end.

At 8 months old, my daughter was up all night, rarely sleeping more than 2 hours at a time while I constantly replaced the paci, nursed, or rocked her back to sleep. Plus, daytime sleep was no better. I drove around Palm Beach county multiple times a day to get her to nap even if it was just for 30 minutes! Looking back it was crazy!

I went down the google rabbit hole of baby sleep. I read article after article and found contradictory information. I didn’t know what to believe and didn’t have the time or energy to discern through it all. Then, a friend told me to hire a sleep consultant!

A what? I didn’t even know that was a thing! And ya know what? It was magical! My whole freaking world changed…practically overnight. I suddenly had a well-rested baby, on a consistent nap schedule, sleeping 11-12 hours straight through the night. To be honest, I got my sanity back and could enjoy motherhood again.

After that, I became obsessed with learning the science behind baby sleep. I began reading, studying, and casually helping friends with their children’s sleep. I found so much joy in helping other moms through their sleep struggles that I decided to enroll in the Family Sleep Institute to become a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant in 2020!

In the years leading up to my sleep consulting certification, we also had our second daughter, lived through a pandemic, and watched my oldest become a toddler! During those toddler years is when I discovered my other passion for learning about child behavior and positive parenting.

My sweet baby now voiced her own opinions, wanted to assert her independence, and tested boundaries, exactly what her job is. I discovered the traditional ways of time out, punishment, and scolding didn’t feel right to me so again I started looking for something that felt better to me.

I dove in full force and created my own self-study. I read books, took workshops, and listened to podcasts. After witnessing the incredible shift from power struggles to cooperation in my own home, I decided to become a Positive Parenting Coach as well.

These two passions of mine have now become Catching Dreams Sleep & Behavior Consulting!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
All major life changes have some bumps in the road but I look at these bumps as opportunities to learn. I went from being a full-time elementary school teacher to stay a home mom and then to a business owner.

Becoming a SAHM was a bit jarring in the beginning but motherhood led me to find my passion for sleep and parent coaching so I will always be grateful for the struggles I went through.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am the founder of Catching Dreams Sleep & Behavior Consulting!

As a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant and Positive Parenting Coach, I help families go from exhausted and stressed to well-rested and better connected. I work one on one with families in South Florida and around the country (virtually) tackling everything from night wakings and short naps to tantrums, potty readiness, discipline, and picky eating.

I am proud of the personalized support I provide to every one of my family. Every family is unique and has very individual needs so we work together to create a plan that matches that. In my sleep consulting packages, it is always my goal for families to feel 100% supported during the time we work together.

That’s why I provide 2 weeks of daily support. I give feedback, advice, and answer questions. We problem-solve and celebrate all of the successes along the way! I’m basically their sleep BFF for 2 weeks! This support is what makes all the difference and why my clients refer their friends and family.

One of my specialties for local families in Palm Beach and Broward County is overnight sleep support. After creating the sleep plan I come to the family’s home and support the parents through the first few nights of sleep training. If the baby is awake then I’m awake.

It’s so special to be with families in their homes. We create such a wonderful bond and I love being their cheerleader!

What are your plans for the future?
I am looking forward to reaching more families! It is truly my life’s mission to help families through their child’s early years while feeling empowered rather than overwhelmed!
