Hi Ronald, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My story started as a former professional soccer player (Goalkeeper) and Venezuelan international in categories u17, u20, and Senior team with 15 years of career including a World Cup in Egypt 2009.
The position of a GK in soccer is very well known for dealing with so much mental adversity and having extreme discipline. They are judged, questioned, and bullied for the majority of their playing careers which forced them to develop a bulletproof mindset that makes them a winner at all times.
The story about PRO GK ACADEMY FL starts by giving hope to every single goalkeeper out there helping them to build very solid habits, discipline, character, and relentless personalities taking them to the next level in their life and also in soccer from playing to a better team to make the dream in playing on D1 schools or going Professional.
PROGKACADEMY has almost seven years since we started as a nonprofit organization and now it’s probably the best we’ll know specialty school in the state, being the home of now D1 school GKS, Professional levels in leagues like USL and MLS, and an over a +200 a GKS in our radar fighting for their objectives and goals.
The most important aspect of my school is the winning environment that creates another type of people, making every single athlete succeed in life and soccer.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
EASY DAYS NEVER EXISTED, 6 years ago, we planted the seed of what we have right now, building generations from scratch, convincing parents to change mindset and habits, and overall, creating a different type of mentality for every single player to get the best our of them and applying it on the field getting 1% better every day.
Education for me as a coach is crucial, it’s been years and years of constant learning and challenging myself in being the best role model that all my students will ever have.
From being a small-town kid with no options to playing in a World Cup and speaking 3 different languages, and never being overweight.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m very well known for taking Soccer Goalkeepers to the top levels of the game.
I am a hustler, I love the hard work, the discipline, and winning habits… When I get my athletes to obsessively commit to their goals and objectives I know they will have a chance.
What makes me more proud about what I do, is that I change people’s lives through what I love and what gave me so much in my life (goalkeeping) and soccer. I’ve had cases like transforming kids getting bullied in school into D1 athletes with incredible mindsets and winning habits.
People are overweighted and insecure, into winners in life and exceptional athletes. Current professional Soccer goalkeepers, came to me telling me that they were retiring and now I watch them playing life on ESPN every weekend.
The impact on people makes a very happy person.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Most people see me on the field, but I dedicate enormous energy and time off the field to getting 1% better on every single thing I do to get them better.
