Today we’d like to introduce you to Camila Rodriguez.
Hi Camila, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I created Statocny to build on the hopes and dreams that grew from my humble beginning in Bogota, Colombia. From a very young age, I had obstacles in my life that made me the woman l am today and fueled my passion to build a platform that empowers women. As a child, I had to overcome an unstable home, separation from family, living on the streets, and painful losses. Along the way, I countlessly heard “you can’t” from people in life, including family. Some form of “You will not make it” were the phrases that I had to deal with daily. The immense challenge we determined women face and how it can hurt us or make us stronger is how Statocny came to be. No matter how hard the road was, how many humiliations I endured, or how many nights on the street passed I turned those experiences into a relentless passion to do something that tipped the scales in a positive way for other women. I feel so secure and powerful, I think I really have purpose in this life on giving a message to so many girls, I believe there’s a lot of women having a wrong view or perspective and sometimes that’s because that is the way we grow up in our countries is like a chip they insert us and there so much to see outside of that wall.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I was a very insecure, depressed girl. I always felt as a victim of life because I tough I deserved to live the way I was living at that time, my negativity and bad thoughts made me do things that I really regret in that aspect because I wasn’t seeing more than the wall I had in front of me. The instability of my family and not having that masculine and feminine image we have as a parent when we born it was one of the most important facts that I was missing in my life.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an influencer, actress, and businesswomen. I love all the things that had something to do with art. I started my own business seven months ago a brand that represents me in all the aspects. Statocny is a brand for all women, created by women, and celebrates their stories. Our vision is to create feminine designs that evoke empowering feelings of bravery, safety, and happiness as the wearers live life and “conquer the world” in their own unique way.
The Statocny experience captures the passion I developed and the positive messages I repeated to myself to overcome the challenges on my journey. It is a brand for women that lifts us in every aspect of our existence.
