Today we’d like to introduce you to Brett Meyer.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My first year of high school is when my passion for sneakers and fashion started. My parents gifted me the first pair of sneakers- Nike Lebron 11’s. The next three years of high school is when my passion started to grow and I began to collect more and more sneakers. During my first year of college, I collected my first pair of Jordan’s- Jordan 4 Royalties. That is also when I started getting into reselling sneakers and high-end fashion. I have collected over 200 pairs of sneakers and invested into high-end fashion. After college, I started my career in marketing. However, I still wanted to pursue my passion for fashion, which is when I started producing TikTok content. Over the course of two years, I grew a following of 10K.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Two years into my college experience, I started to feel like the career path in medicine did not characterize who I was as a person. After taking a semester off, I did a lot of soul searching which led me back to fashion. I went back to college to pursue a career in fashion merchandising and marketing. I wouldn’t be where I am today without taking the risk of taking time off college and reflecting on what I am passionate about.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in making TikTok videos. In these videos, I show off my sneaker and fashion collection. After two years of making content, I finally started getting following. I am now at 10k followers and have made a lasting impression on those who watch and support my content. My goal for TikTok is to inspire younger generations to follow their dreams and to never give up. The best part of making fashion content is that you set yourself apart by having your own style.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
When I was starting out, I wish I was more consistent and made content every day. My advice to those who are just starting out is to be consistent. Having patience is key when trying to develop a following and when trying to find your niche. If you are able to be yourself, people will take to your content more.
