Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Rodriguez.
Nicole, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In short, I lived a very fast-paced Miami lifestyle for most of my life. Did everything in excess. A breakup and endless meltdowns later, I found myself praying to not wake up. My life was a mess. My emotions were completely out of control. My best friend suggested yoga. I declined. She then started dragging me to yoga and finally one day it clicked. I learned to love myself & my body. I accepted my past and became excited for the future. Three years later, I am the healthiest, happiest, most successful I have ever been. I am a full-time Realtor and Yoga Instructor at one of the best studios in Miami. I am sober, which I thought to be impossible. Most would say I have changed completely, I find that to be false. I’ve simply found myself, my path, my truth & my dharma – to help others heal in the same way that I have.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. You don’t realize how much you have to heal until you start healing. I abused my body with drugs, alcohol & fast food from the age of 13 to about 32. The process of sobering up and actually feeling my feelings and being accountable for my actions was awakening to say the least. It’s a forever path but I am happy to be where I am and fortunate to do the work.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have been a full-time Realtor in Miami for 8+ years. I love what I do and am lucky enough to do it with the best of the best. I am the senior most member of the Ben Moss Group with the Sports & Entertainment Division at Compass Real Estate. Real Estate has always been stressful & now more than ever. I attest my professional success to my yoga & meditation practice.
For the past year, I have been teaching yoga privately, at rehab facilities & exclusively at Ahana Yoga in the Design District.
It is through teaching that I have found my passion for sharing my experiences, my path & my practice. I have vowed to be an open book in an attempt to help or inspire others to make changes that can save their life.
I am extremely proud of my yogic path as it is not one I welcomed or even imagined myself to be on. That path has lead me to my meditation and devotional practice of Bhakti Yoga which I am extremely passionate about.
I feel that my raw, open, honest, humble & at times comical approach to everything I do is what sets me apart. If I’m going to do something, I want to do it right. I am forever a student & relentlessly committed to my spiritual advancement.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I am always open to collaborate on a yoga platform. I am available for private sessions. You can catch me at Ahana Yoga several times throughout the week. And, of course, serious Real Estate inquiries only.
