Larry, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Orion fight Tech is the first exercise system to offer a complete and fun work-out while learning or honing self-defense skills. My transformation is the proof that Fight Tech works.
I am not an athlete, I am an inventor. I help run LRC Products – a successful and demanding packaging company in Ft. Lauderdale until 4 pm every day. I then work on Fight Tech for another four hours – installing and testing new parts and components for refinement. Every night I learn more and more about engineering and design. This has been my routine for years now. I am very thorough and strive for perfection – and this takes a lot of time, but this is what I enjoy doing.
In order to build a full body exercise machine that really works, I had to create a series of targets that make the user move unlike any other exercise machine out there. I watched the way fighters from MMA, Boxing, Karate and others hit and move in order to recreate the mechanical movements that simulate real life.
When I began the challenge of creating Orion Fight Tech, I was 46 years old and weighed 242 pounds after years of abusing myself with poor diet and a sedentary lifestyle. I eventually decided that I better do something about it. I have designed countless variations and improvements of Fight Tech over the past 25 years. I always kept aiming to perfect it because of how well it works.
The thing that makes Fight Tech so unique and makes it work so well is the variation of targets. The first is the 24-inch rotating foam covered arm that spins at a speed reflecting the user’s ferocity, self-adjusting to the user’s strength and speed. As the arm spins, the user hits the foam target, ducks or blocks it. At the same time, depending on the choice of configuration, there are randomly launching side and head targets in addition to jabbing targets. The launching targets are controlled by an onboard computer chip.
Professional Bellator fighter Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal has trained extensively using Orion fight Tech and has found it helped train his timing and conditioning. (See our videos featuring him on our Facebook page). The different kinds of dynamic targets can accommodate beginners and pros alike – from children all the way to professionals like “King MO”.
Orion fight Tech has a patent pending assembly system that makes it incredibly simple to assemble, disassemble, and store. We also have a patent pending system for easy on/off target selection, allowing the targets to be changed in a matter of seconds.
All the targets are soft but very durable. The user can hit the target as hard as they like and not worry about getting hit back. Boxing gloves are not necessary, as weight lifting gloves provide enough protection.
We are in the final stages where all finished designs are ready for lasting durability and mass production. For commercial manufacturing, we have teamed up with an engineer with 40 years of medical product design and development experience. Very exciting!
Rather than hire young beautiful models to represent Orion Fight Tech, as they are hired due to the way they look, I wanted to represent my product myself. I’m not young or beautiful, but what I can offer is the proof fight Tech works. From 242 to 168 pounds and 11% body fat, this is Fight Tech!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The designing and the progression of Orion fight Tech in and of itself has not been that difficult. The difficulty is in life itself interfering: hurricanes, machines breaking down in my packaging business, a fire this year that burnt down a ten thousand square foot supply building, countless other business issues, travel and family matters.
The other part that gets difficult for me is the legal side of inventing. Everything must be documented with the patent office before it can be viewed commercially. Because I am an inventor, I don’t stop inventing even when this process is underway. The patent office claims there may be as many as 15 patents attached to Orion fight Tech. The documentation is long and arduous, but my work is my mistress.

LRC is a packaging company that I have owned and operated since 2002. I enjoy designing new things, and LRC products allow me to do that when we meet our client’s needs for safe and affordable packaging.
With LRC Products, I have also three patents for unique packaging products. My most innovative packaging creation is a system that suspends a product in mid-air during shipping as a means to avoid shock and damage from dropping. We tested the product by dropping wine bottles and eggs at a height of 24 feet!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Orion Fight Tech is in its final stages before our launch on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo.
Wholesale manufacturing and distribution of Orion fight Tech products will soon follow after the completion of our campaign. Because of my 28 years in business, I know what to do and how to put it all together to make it work so our backers and customers receive a quality product on time.
