Today we’d like to introduce you to Tené Green.
Hi Tené, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Tené Green, I am 24 years young and have lived in South Florida my whole life. I have been into haircare for as long as I can remember and it has not been an easy journey. I stopped perming my hair and went completely natural in June of 2016. Since then, I took a huge interest in the natural hair journey and continued to partake in things that led to the growth and health of my hair. When I first thought of this business in September of 2021, I honestly reflected on my experiences and all the things that got me to this point. As someone who never enjoyed working for anyone but myself, I wanted to provide something that other natural hair individuals could use to make their journey and routines easier. This reflection led to the creation of Tené’s Hair Helpers, a brand that offers satin hair products with my own unique twist to it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This new venture has definitely not been a smooth road but I have enjoyed every bit of the process along the way. Some of the challenges I faced during my journey was trying to maintain a healthy schedule without overworking myself, finding the right vendors that I could trust, and building the courage to promote my business to others. I do however understand that this is not going to be an easy thing to do but in the end, I know it will be well worth it.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I currently offer satin hair products such as bonnets, head scarfs, scrunchies, edge wraps, and more! I am most proud of the support I have received from those closest to me. You usually hear about strangers making up the bulk of your business but it has been the complete opposite of that for my business. The constant positive reviews have been such a huge motivator for me and I am so excited for the growth of this brand. The thing that sets Tené’s Hair Helpers apart from others is the customizations added to each individual order. No creative is alike, everyone has their own unique style so when creating these customized products for you all, understand that what you see is from my creative mind and no one else’s.
How do you think about luck?
I do not believe I have had good luck or bad luck in my life or business, I believe that my actions are the result of everything my business becomes. Factors like mindset, work ethic, how I function in the outside world, etc. contribute to the success and future success I will achieve through this business.
