Today we’d like to introduce you to Lovely Joubert.
Hi Lovely, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Director, Writer, Producer, Teacher, Miss Florida International 2018, born in Saint-Marc, Haiti, came to the United States at 14 years of age. I got married to the love of my life on February 14th of 2021. I began my career in church as a playwright at just 15 years old. At 17, I graduated from Lake Worth Community High School in Florida. After High School, I earned my Bachelor’s in Health Care Administration in Palm Beach State College.
In 2013, I wrote, produced, and directed my first feature film, Endurance. The film was a thriller, suspense, and drama about overcoming drug addiction. Endurance featured over 50 reputable actors and crew members. The Grand Premiere was a huge success, far beyond my imagination, which 2000 people came to show their support. Endurance sold out in fifteen minutes and turned down more than 600 people.
In 2015, Endurance premiered in over 10 States and was seeing in theaters by over 10,000 people with several sold-out shows. Endurance received eleven award nominations and received five Awards. In 2016, Endurance was nominated for an Award in Hollywood, California.
I am now an entrepreneur, a teacher and I am currently working in three different featured films. “Beach Chain”, a 90-minute feature-length suspense sci-fi thriller film consists of a group of strangers from different walks of life who quickly become enemies as they struggle to overcome a mystery that truly “tests” each victim will to live through physical and psychological torture unparalleled to anything ever seen before. “he plan”, an 80-minute comedy featured film and “What About Me”, an upcoming TV series.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I have encountered many roadblocks in my career. I am Haitian, I am black and I am a woman, therefore I did not have the confidence to dream big. The older I get, the more I realize that because I am HAITIAN because I am a WOMAN because I am BLACK that’s why I should push harder to become successful. Change has to come from your mind and how you perceive things, thus I mold my mindset to win in all circumstances. I also do a lot of personal development to strengthen my mindset. I pray often, I read my bible, I listen to empowering podcasts that how I overcome any and every struggle in my life.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am the CEO and owner of Lovely Joubert Productions, LLC. I started my business in 2013, I was very young with big dreams. My vision for my production company is to touch hearts and heal minds through my stories. I wanted to express my art through Writing, Directing and Filmmaking. My vision came to life when I produced my first film in 2014. I am now working on two films BEACH CHAIN and THE PLAN.
