Today we’d like to introduce you to Forrest Knight.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born in Oakland, California on a military base as both of my parents were in the Navy. Growing up, I spent a lot of my time building computers and playing video games.
Fast forward into my early adulthood, I’m working at Edward Jones right out of college as a software engineer in Saint Louis, Missouri. I quickly learned cubicle life was NOT for me and started to look into investing in real estate.
As my career advanced, I eventually moved into Corporate sales selling software instead of making it. Most of my customers are fortune 500 companies – all whilst buying more and more real estate.
Now, at 30 years old, the primary tenants of my life are Breakin( break dancing), Real Estate, Sales, and fitness.
I commit a large amount of my time working on my (very small) youtube channel trying to inform regular people of how to change their financial futures.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all, I remember being 22 Making 55K a year, wearing a suit every day and driving to work in my 2009 BMW 335i and it wasn’t long before I felt very empty inside.
It basically boiled down to this idea, “I spent all this time grinding in school, working while being an athlete doing two a day practices, grinding my ass off – for this?”
Additionally, I thought making six figures was like, THE DREAM. Granted, I’m from the Midwest and a slow city, but I quickly learned that if I grinding, I could achieve wayyy more.
Being a D1 athlete in college, having to squat for three months while I was 3, and more or less just working like crazy really gave me the firepower to be unstoppable now in my life though. There are countless failures along my personal path to success, and each other betters me.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
One of the things I am most proud of in addition to Co-Founding Longview Acquisitions, which is a real estate investment company AND being a full-time employee at a startup that was JUST acquired and being responsible for half the market there is ALSO still being a dancer.
I’m a member of the timeless and original crew, Full Circle Souljahs based out of New York City. I had the pleasure of meeting the founders while I was living in New York and they took me under their wing.
Being an eclectic person is by far what I am known for most, as well as just always being ‘on’. I take a lot of pride in doing things the right way and believe everyone owes it to themselves to realize their potential.
