Meet Summer Trenkle of Elevate Athletics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Summer Trenkle.

Hi Summer, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up in a small town in California, in a family where college and living an average life was basically engrained in our generations minds, was a tough cycle to break. Where I grew up, it was rare to find someone who went against the norm. The normal being going to school, getting a 9-5 job, settling down and having a family. However, this just did not seem right to me. I always wondered if there was more to life than what I was born to believe was life. This curiosity lead me to network on social media. I began to start growing my social media following, specifically on Instagram. I felt that Instagram was an outlet where I could share and document my life. I wanted to be someone who people looked up to, inspired by, and could help them break society’s or generational norms.

With social media, I began to grow pretty early on. Fitness was always a passion of mine so I also shared my lifestyle and fitness journey on there. People began to be inspired with my progress and how dedicated I was to fitness. At this time, I was going to school to study nutrition but only going to school to please my parents meanwhile I continued to share my journey on social media. During my first year at college in California, I started my fitness coaching business. I felt called to start helping people and using my knowledge and experience in health and fitness and distribute that to my clients. My business surprisingly started to grow and flourish. This lead me to be even more curious about how I can make my business grow even more. I then dropped out of college because I wanted to use that time to pour into growing my business. This was a very tough situation because my family had always pushed me to go to school. However, I was done pleasing my parents and I was ready to use my skills to help and impact people around the world. I took every risk and every opportunity in doing so. This lead me to moving across the country to Florida and now I am thriving in my business and in life. I am not near done yet, many more goals and dreams I am working on but this has been a journey and I will continue to share and document it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I touched on this in the previous message, but the biggest obstacle has been overcoming what my parents, family and friends wanted for my life and rather, going against that and building/creating the life of my dreams.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Elevate Athletics?
I am a health and fitness coach as well as a life coach. I specialize in getting people to reach their fitness goals. I have helped over 350 women in their fitness journeys. I also work to completely transform my client’s mindset and life, it is not just fitness and nutrition and I believe that is what separates me from others.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Fort Lauderdale is a beautiful environment. The energy here is top notch, I would explain it like a classier Miami. You get the city, the beach, the energy but not too crazy and not as much traffic as Miami. I love the gyms around here and the people I have met have all been incredible! There are also lots of good places to eat here too!
