Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa Covington.
Vanessa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It all started in 2013 when I attended the University of Miami Accelerated Nursing program. I finished my BSN-RN degree in 12 months. Immediately after passing my boards, I went on to work with a well renown plastic surgeon. I completely fell in love with aesthetics and continued on to my master’s degree where I graduated as a Nurse Practitioner in 2017. I began learning the injectable side of aesthetics and continued working in it full time till 2021 when I opened my own business called “Luminance Aesthetics”. I have tremendous passion in what I do.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest struggle I had was finishing an accelerated program with a family. I had to master time management.
Other than that, the majority of the way has been smooth. Of course in the beginning, it was learning a brand new hands-on career. I attended many conferences and trainings to learn new techniques.

I do injectables and specialize in lips. I love what I do and have tremendous passion for my career. I love making others feel good and confident.
I stand out because of my customer service. I do not just do treatments on patients but rather provide exceptional service to them. I provide long-term relationships with my patients. It is extremely important to me everyone who walks through the door leaves happy and confident.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I used to model in my 20s. I have been in magazines, billboards, catalogs, and even commercials.
I also wake up between 4-5 am every morning to start my day.
