Today we’d like to introduce you to Kirill Kucherov.
Hi Kirill, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born in Paramushir, Russia. It is a small island not far from Japan. After the Soviet Union collapsed, my family moved to Moscow. That’s where my love of sports started. I did martial arts, hockey and then tennis. At age 14, I went to a summer tennis camp in Spain and later returned as a full-time player to achieve my dreams of becoming a professional tennis player. Later I traveled around the world to pursue my tennis career in countries like Australia, Morocco, Spain, Portugal and others. Later in life, when I decided to move to the next chapter of my life, I moved to the US to pursue my own American dream. As we say, when one door closes, another door opens. I always wanted to stay in sports and wanted to share my experience with the world.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road was not smooth at all. When you are starting your business, the first question you ask is “now what?” We needed partners in Europe like soccer clubs, coaches and scouts so they could connect with our clients. All of them were located in different parts of Europe. To reach those places, we needed funds so we could meet with partners face to face. It is always best to travel to the location to meet with people, it is already half the road to success. It shows that you are committed and you are serious to work with them. So we had to borrow funds so we could travel around to different parts of Europe where our future clients could travel and pursue their journey.

Sportcamptravel LLC is a sports agency located in Miami, FL. We have offices in Moscow, Russia and a representative office in Barcelona, Spain. Our agency works with athletes of all levels from around the world. Soccer players, swimmers and tennis players can book a variety of services on our website. We provide the following programs for our clients:
Preseason soccer training in Europe: for soccer players who are looking to improve their soccer skills during a break from school/college and the regular soccer season. Players can join any time during the year.
Study abroad and play soccer in Europe: for soccer players who are looking to become professional and would like to continue their education in Europe. Players will have the opportunity to study in a private school or university. At the same time, they will compete for soccer clubs in Europe.
Alain Bernard Summer Swimming Camp in France: Sportcamptravel has been working with Olympic champion Alain Bernard for many years to offer swimmers the opportunity to improve their swimming skills. Swimmers can also take private lessons from Alain Bernard and other Olympic swimmers.
Summer Soccer Camps in Europe: Sportcamptravel offers different types of soccer camps for any level around Europe.
Soccer Scouting in Portugal: We work with many soccer clubs and we offer soccer tryouts for players who are interested in joining a soccer club in Portugal.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Covid-19 really put pressure on our business. Our clients could not travel to Europe. We started to provide more online coaching and online analysis of our clients’ games. It also required us to provide additional paperwork to airlines so our clients could travel. Important lessons: always keep emergency funds for your business and always keep in touch with your clients so they know you are always with them in those difficult times.
You realize how life is short and everything can change in the moment. Love life and be present. You don’t know what can happen tomorrow.
