Today we’d like to introduce you to David Netzer.
Hi David, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I live in downtown Lake Worth Beach, which is an artsy coastal town filled with great shops, restaurants, and galleries, all within a 20-minute walk to the beach. I enjoy long walks on the beach, as well as time spent at my Mountain House in the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina during the hot summer months.
I’m an Entrepreneur, a Florida native (born in Ft Lauderdale!), a foodie, traveler, animal lover, yogi, and a bit of a geek! I enjoy doing business, negotiating deals and am a big believer in formal education.
As a kid, I moved around a lot between Palm Beach County and Lexington Kentucky and ultimately ended up in Tampa to study at the University of Tampa. Later, I combined my love of international travel with higher education and completed a Master’s program in International Business through a degree program featuring consulting projects on three continents in addition to my studies.
I’ve been fortunate enough to able to combine several of my passions by working as a consultant to global legal technology companies and law firms. My work has also allowed me to travel to educational and networking events and meet smart, fun, and fascinating people from around the globe.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
People are usually surprised to hear that I have always struggled with social anxiety! I often present myself in social situations as the outgoing, gregarious type. But working in sales and networking has definitely stretched me out of my comfort zone and motivated me to get out and do the things I’d feel more comfortable avoiding. Being self-employed has also allowed me to take the personal time I need to unwind and recharge after social engagements. I spend my free time exercising, doing yoga, and meditating, which all helps me charge back up and keep at the hustle!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I’m the founder of a niche global executive recruiting firm called The Legal Tech Talent Network. We serve the legal technology and litigation support sector, and our clients include legal solutions providers, law firms, and corporate legal departments. In addition to finding top talent for legal teams, my company also provides educational resources, consulting services, a podcast, and even handles sales of legal software through referral programs with partners. And with the vast social media network we’ve built over the years, we now offer advertising solutions to companies seeking to market to the legal technology community.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We love collaborating with other small business owners and self-employed contractors. We leverage their skills and talents to serve our own clients, and it feels good to support other entrepreneurs and local small business owners in the process.
